This is my standard way of moving them around my building at work

It works for other computers, too

For moving multiple ones or for a greater distance than inside the building, I use a flatbed cart.

And, for all other situations, I use my car. Most Mac towers will fit nicely on the backseat floorboard of most cars. I've even managed to shoehorn two towers into my MG-one on the passenger floorboard and one on the parcel shelf behind the seats, although I wouldn't want to travel very far like that.

Yes, and only the latest 2013 models have it. If by headless you mean over Screen Sharing, yes it's possible, and works just fine if you only want a server.
Are the latest 2013 better than the other Mac Pros? I do like the classic MP best.

It depends on how you plan to use it, how much you're willing to spend. I have 4 HDDs and 2 ODDs in my 2006 Mac Pro, and it would be a task to make all those external for sure.

I'd go for a 2006-2009 Mac Pro - then I'd own a Mac Pro :)
A 2006-2009 MB is a better buy than a PPC Mac, realistically speaking.

The new ones are dead quiet and incredibly responsive thanks to their PCIe storage.

The classic ones have more room for internal storage plus you can load up expansion cards without it costing an arm and a leg for external enclosures. You can even put in PCIe storage if you want, or standard SATA based flash drives for good performance and less money. You have a LOT of GPU options. The main things they lack are Thunderbolt and USB 3.0. USB 3.0 should in theory be possible with an expansion card, although I've heard mixed reports on how well this works.

So there's no way to get Thunderbolt on a 2006-2012 MP? Damn :(

I want the '06 MP.
The 2006 and 2007 Mac Pros are effectively the same machine, the only difference being the firmware in the 8-core model supports those processors. Any fix will work for both, and in fact you can flash a 1,1 to be a 2,1 (recommended for an 8-core CPU upgrade).

I've never owned a Mac Pro... I just need a Mac Pro, iMac (eventually) and Macbook :)

So then I'd just need an iMac to own all Apple desktops (iMac, Mac Pro and mini). Right?
