USB Drive

One thing that most of you guys aren't taking into consideration -- is that some people use the iPhone as a something other than the phone that it is.

With the ability to be a wireless router, a WiFi/3G/4G Antenna via USB, and a mountable hard drive -- having other methods to connect to the iPhone that would speed my Ubuntu Sessions up -- as well as all the other things.

Looking for USB 3.0 Support =]

Why isn't the iPhone 4S Usb 3 or thunderbolt internally?

With the inclusion of USB 3 in the new MacBooks along with the persistent rumor of a new dock connector, I'd say that USB 3 is a certainty for the next generation iPhone and all iOS devices afterwards (with the obvious exception of Apple TV).

I hope you're right. I just got a new MBA with USB 3.0 :D

Why would apple put a USB 3 port on the iPhone 4s when they don't sell any computers that use USB 3:confused:

Plus what advantage does USB 3 really have to offer for the iPhone . Its primary purpose is charging and syncing. Now with iOS5 there is less need to connect the iPhone to your Mac.

Actually, they do. The rMBP and the MBA has USB 3.

I just hope iPhone 5 is thunderbolt!

How will PCs sync to the iPhone - with a 50 dollar dongle that apple will charge? I'd say thats a bad business decision. Besides what advantage would a thunderbolt interface be with the iPhone. You sync to iTunes in 8 seconds instead of 12 seconds? Not worth it imo.

That's the case for most of the iPhone users but consumers like to be fast. Imagine the benefits Thunderbolt can bring if we synced our 40GB music libraries with it.

Nah. Anything wired would, IMO, almost be considered legacy tech when it comes to mobile devices (iPod, iPhone, & iPad), so I seriously doubt Apple is investing much time, thought, or money into such things.
