iPhone 17 Pro Max Why no iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB silver in New York

I’m planning on buying an iPhone 17 Pro Max tomorrow but for the life of me I can’t find a Silver 256GB model anywhere in New York, is the online stock checker upto date? Do they have stock in stores that aren’t on the Store app? Just a tad confused why they don’t have any. In the UK you can just walk in and buy one with no issue.

I was impatient and got an orange 256gb because that's all ATT had in stock when we were doing our upgrades. Orange wouldn't have been my first choice, but I don't mind. I definitely regret not getting more storage. Could you do 512?

Not seeing 256 in any color in NYC. Some stores have 512; though the only with Silver is Bay Plaza in the Bronx.

Still not in stock at any of the 12 nearest stores to me on Long Island. I’ve seen 1 or 2 pop up recently, but they went quickly. Why is this such a hard one to find?
