Why no iPhone 5 rumors?

What features the iPhone 5 might have? I haven´t heard anything.

With previous iPhone releases there was always huge abundance of rumors about countless features what the iPhone could have. With iPhone 5, nothing. Silence.

Only something about a different design maybe (4" screen maybe) and a 8mpix camera. Boring! RAM and processor upgrades are no brainers of course.

Are we coming to a period where Apple just can´t do anything new with the iPhone anymore and are running out of ideas. Technology has come to a hold?

If not that, then at least the people have run out of ideas what the iPhone could have. This wasn´t the case before, always lots of ideas.
 
what do you expect ?

next upgrade is a little spec bump; the main part comes via iCould and iOS5. And of course my Retina-Pad.

LTE was marked as not yet ready for iPhone ... (but maybe wrong; who knows)
 
Well that´s exactly my point. I can´t think even myself what they could do with the iPhone anymore. They pretty much did everything with the iPhone 4.

And the fact that they didn´t release the iPhone this summer proves also, they are running out of new technologies and need to delay the game.

I´m starting to think iPhone 5 could be first iPhone I´m going to skip. :eek: I mean what can they do with it anymore?

Few things that come to mind that they still could do:

-4G
-1080p video recording
-Better microphone(s) for audio recording, stereo!
-Desktop internet browser. I´m sick of the mobile browsing experience, it´s just horrible!

or the quad-code ARM need more time ? ... wasn't there a rumor about heat issue.

Ok; what is missing and every regular japanese mobile has since years the NFC ... I just hold it at the gate on the train station or bus and go in; checkin at the airport, paying my drinks and taxi ... but not really innovation; just a missing feature in iPhone.
Cable-less charging would be nice, too
 
Well, most new iPhone features come on software... and they already showed us iOS5...

I suspect the iPhone 5 keynote to be the most boring keynote ever
 
I thnk the iphone 6 you will see a major change with the 5? Doubt there will be much of an upgrade

We have not seen any rumours because there has been nothing from credible sources. I would imagine seeing some towards the run up to a release.

We don't even know that it is going to be released within the next couple of months, may well have to wait until next year.
 
A5 chip to better handle iOS5
Upgraded camera
Antenna fix (just to put this one to rest); may include a new, rounder back
Larger screen. Simplest solution would be 3.8" screen in same shell.

Really, though, that's about all Apple's options on the hardware side. That's why people are clamoring for a larger screen. Where else can Apple go and keep people interested?

If you had an iPhone 4 and the 5 is just a faster chip and camera upgrade, most would hardly bother to upgrade. Apple has to keep the excitement up and that won't do it for most people.
 
Agree... Macrumors has been oddly quiet, there hasn't even been any interesting news/rumors on future Apple products other than iPhone, but then again these are the dog days of Summer.

Because Apple won't make the same mistake as they did with the iPhone 4 prototype that ended up on the internet.
 
No excitement here. I found using a jailbroken 3GS gives me the same happy user experience as a jailbroken ip4.
I prefer android over a vanilla iPhone.
Android is filling up my readings as of late. Several of my hard core ip4 friends moved to android and the love it. Perhaps a change in OS's may spark some new interest.

:rolleyes: What about:
-Improved processor
-Bigger screen
-Different body
-Better screen (as in AMOLED, but i know that's not going to happen with the iPhone 5)
-Added features (LED notification indicator, capacitive home button)
-Improved speakers
-Thinner
-Lighter
-Camera
There are SO many things it could be improved on.

Look back in time every iPhone update has only really been a camera upgrade, a speed bump and a change in form factor. The only nontypical update was when 3G was added. A 4inch screen would be quite a significant update.

Isn´t iPhone 4 the most sold iPhone ever? I think the leak and the whole antennagate just boosted Apple´s iPhone 4 sales BIG TIME!

There´s no such thing as bad publicity you know. ;)

I tried android and hated it and no I am not an Apple fanboy, I use a PC.

You forgot the retina display.

I don´t think 4" screen can be compared to 3G, retina display. For some this could be even a deal breaker, I certainly don´t want a bigger phone than iPhone 4.

You are right abou the antenna gate, if anything it gave Apple more publicity and the sales climbed.

But for funsies I will say that it has to do with those leakers who got imprisoned in China for leaking NDA information @ Foxconn :p
