Do you have any evidence to support such a claim? For example, an iPhone App developer claiming their application was rejected by Apple only to learn Apple released a very similar app on the App Store?Yeah but it's more than likely probable.

How many phones are they selling without these features that "everyone wants"?
Exactly.

Proof I think you're wrong: Apple released Texas Hold'em but also allowed a number of other poker games on the store, including Real Deal Texas Hold'em....i'm pretty sure that if someone made an application doing exactly what the remote did, and Apple had PLANNED on releasing it's own, why would they allow the other persons in the store when they have there own?
No one really knows, but you just have to assume that's the way it could be with some apps.

Well, I guess we're just going to have to agree to disagree. But I feel my evidence provides proof of the opposite of your assumption.Uh, yes Apple made a Poker app. So?
We're talking about features. Apple was FIRST do make it. They are going to allow other apps like it, it's the purpose of the app store, because of it's diversity.
Apple WON'T release an App though that is planned. They would rather do it themselves, and have it done "their" way. Then, after there's is out, it's up to them to allow more apps like what that does on the store. It's their choice.
Yeah, I know. That wasn't my point, but thanks. You can actually email photos to phones that only have MMS. Every phone on every carrier has an email address tied to it. Go search the forum and you'll find a list of carriers and how to email a phone at each one.

Well technically they can't say anything about the App. That might just be until it's actually inserted into the store, but like i said, i'm pretty sure that if someone made an application doing exactly what the remote did, and Apple had PLANNED on releasing it's own, why would they allow the other persons in the store when they have there own?

No. You. Cannot.
I don't understand why this keeps getting passed around as fact. It isn't true. It applies in the US. Virtually no other country in the world does this, and operators usually deliberately block it to increase messaging revenue.
It's as stupid as the idea that MMS is "dead" when the amounts of MMS being sent are going up.
Phazer
MMS is an outdated and dying stopgap application.
With more and more cellphones able to access email, there's less and less need for MMS.
People who say they need MMS actually need better phones, or they need the patience to see a photo on their browser when they get home and check their email.
How many average people know it doesn't come with MMS or video? I did not know about it until I actually started reading up on the iPhone. Some people are impulse buyers and will just buy, then be very disappointed.
