You have the scaled down version of Siri. The full version does not run well on the 4.

If the app runs smoothly, and the 4S as the same amount of memory as the 4, I'm sure it runs just fine. It's a huge selling point for the 4S, plain and simple.

I would love to see Siri available for Macs. (I'm going to be an idiot if it is and I didn't know it.)

It would be sweet to have a mic key on your keyboard. Push it and Siri pops up.

I see a benefit in this while multitasking.

Plus it is part of the OS now. If they did some tweaking to rely on the hardware of the 4s then I can see apple keeping it for only the 4s.

Pretty sure there are already some programs out there that you can use.

Is Siri that powerful that it need the A5 dual processor chip? Or is it limited to the 4S so we'll upgrade?

Take away the SIRI part and 4S is simply faster CPU and better camera and makes the 4S even more of a bust upgrade. Very disappointed they didn't increase the screen to 4", this has to be the lamest next gen upgrade ever.

I'm sure they could have made it work, but think about it. What percentage of the population upgrading to the 4S are extremely excited about SIRI and would list that as a top motivator for upgrading?

multiple paths

What I don't really understand is how they are going to implement it. It would appear that siri must be very tightly integrated with the ios 5 software, and yet it will somehow NOT be integration with the ios load that is for the iphone 4, and yet in the beta people must have been testing it, at least some on a current iphone 4, so is there some coded hardware switch? Will it simply not respond? It would seem to be more difficult than necessary to build multiple loads for ios 5, for iphone 4 and iphone 4s

From a tech spec perspective the iPad 2 can handle it. That's not the only decision for a tech company to base their decisions on. They want to sell the next new thing, plus it's a "beta."

iPad 3 will tout it as the second coming of Jesus. iPad 2 won't get it. Big whoop.

I would guess that the exclusion from the iPad is at least partly because they haven't quite worked out how they want the experience to be when your device doesn't have an Internet connection.

Between the iPhone and the iPad, the iPad is more likely to encounter situations where connectivity isn't present.
