I know if mine didn't have the green tint thing going on, on the left side I would keep it. My mini has much better color accuracy then the air. So I'm going to wait for the new mini and see how that is.

You haven't been paying attention?

RAM isn't enough.
It is smaller and lighter but not enough. Still not that portable.
It costs $499 minimum, other devices with better specs are cheaper.
Lots of tabs cannot be opened in Safari without refreshes upon return.
The screen is cheap and discolored.

I can go on and on. I'm keeping mine! :D

Return policies (in the US) are nothing new and I highly doubt you are this annoyed by people who would return a T-shirt purchased in the wrong size or a camera that was underwhelming. So how does it being an iPad somehow trigger an emotional response?

In no way does this affect you personally so the fact that you seem personally affected by this is sad.
Trust me, I'm not annoyed, or emotional and this has no personal affect on me. It was just an curious observation. And, I know my T-shirt size.

Raises the price for all.

Substitute shoplifting for returns. Either way it's theft of goods or services.

I don't think it raises the price for all. Apple knows what they are doing and they know a happy customer is liable to spend so much more, if not right now, then later.

It makes me think of Home Depot. They offer a 1 year warranty on all plants purchased from their nursery. So even if it's totally your fault, you can bring the plant back for a full refund or exchange. But good luck getting out of there without spending at least 2x what the refund was on new plants or other things! Once they get you in the door...

Too many folks with OCD and finding every little thing wrong with their iPad Air. I wonder if some folks even use magnifying glasses just to find the tiniest nicks on it.

This forum is not indicative of anything. It's an enthusiast forum, so people are going to buying just out of curiosity, and then returning it.

Even though "wardrobing" doesn't constitute an act of theft, it's unethical to purchase goods with the intent to use them for free within a given period of time and then return them. It shouldn't be necessary to explain why.

I had display issues with iPad Air (dark area, left side of screen), so will wait a month or two

I am troubled by the "try to buy" philosophy of many posters here. Firstly, its wasteful on so many levels--the shipping, teh packaging, etc. Its just systematic of the narcissism ihherent in the consumer culture. Personally, I have just spent a week deciding between the the new air and the ipad mini. I am not sure which I will get--but I am sure I will not be returning it

Yeah, I agree. I feel like its even worse when people buy new products with the intent to return them just because they can't wait a couple of weeks for the release of a different product. They're not even buying it to help make a decision, it's just a free rental for them until something new comes out.

There are apparently some issues with displays.

I'm wondering how much difference in battery usage the IGZO/non IGZO screens have.

Wallstreetcheatsheet? They just regurgitate other people's news/rumors.

People buying the Air with the explicit intent to return it when the Miini comes out is disgusting. How can anyone condone that?

It's a free market. Apple is free to change their policy if it is hurting them. If it's that bad, Apple shouldn't release one and then wait 3 weeks to release the other. Release both at the same time to put a stop to that.

Why don't they? Air is ready now, and they want to make money now. It's just part of the cost of doing business. No reason to call people disgusting when Apple freely allows it.

I actually returned mine because after a few days of having it I realized it was an impulse buy. I wanted to bring it home and fall in love with it but that didn't happen for me. Yeah, it's thinner and lighter but, for me, not enough to make my iPad 4 feel like an old elephant. It just didn't blow me away like it has for some people. Also, the faster processor didn't do anything for me. I didn't see any difference in speed, probably because all I use it for is Safari, Facebook, emails, and iMessaging.

I think I'll save my money and maybe put it towards a new RMBP.

probably because these things cost a lot of money so people want to have one up to their standards

Apple and other stores can change their policy.

Reality is, they try to set policy for those with HONEST and REASONABLE reasons for returns. Good customer service.

Sadly, there are those that think nothing of getting something on trial and then returning. Those folks do impact what the rest of us pay, and eventual changes in return policies. Those are bad customers.

There has to be balance between Good Customer Service and Bad Customers. That is difficult.

I'm struggling to feel sorry for the multi billion pound company on this one :)

Of course you are: because you live in era of profound narcissism and entitlement. Whats Apple's is yours, because Apple has "so much". Its the same ethos as the occupy movement.

Apple's claim to wealth is great design and craftsmanship. Yours is a sort of consumer incontinence that treads on their graciousness.
