If there was one thing I learned from "scuff gate" it's that there is a segment of iPhone owners so incredibly OCD that the tiniest imperfection ruins their experience.

Wait until you set the 5C down ONCE. Scratch... scratch...

OMG!!! Scratch Gate!!!

Whatever will Apple do? Hold a press conference to announce plastic scratches???

Honestly, Apple is just doing what they do best, have high profit margins. And theres nothing wrong with that. They essentially separated the market into what their current notebook line is. Theres non retina macbook pros and retina macbook pros. Apples goal here is to sell as many 5c's as possible as it will make them more money then the 5s would (per unit). Hence the no pre order for the 5s. If you want to pre order the iphone you can only get the 5c, nothing else. Dont want to wait for the hassle of [gasp] going to a store? get the 5c and so on. And apple will sell millions. Sure most people on here will buy the 5s, but regular people? those that actually care what the on contract price is? In America at least, the average person isnt smart enough to know what on contract vs off contract means. They also arent smart enough to know what the different internals mean. All they see is a $200 phone that looks just like the old $200 phone vs a new, colorful $100 phone. Guess which they will buy?

"Why The 5C is Better Than The 5 And 5S"

Truly off the mark I'm afraid (perhaps in your dreams it is). Can't even bother to explain why it is NOT, as some explained it to you already.
As they say: ignorance is bliss... ;)

IDK, hated how the plastic scratched & cracked easily on my 3GS even w/ a case most of the days when compared to my 4S that looks pristine to this day.

iPhone 4 is still by far the best overall phone apple has produced.

But at the end of the day, it's still a crappy camera. Just because it's attached to an iPhone doesn't change this fact. I have an iPhone 5 and I can just forget about taking any photos of a moving object. I want to document my kid growing up? Forget it. My dogs? Forget it. The iPhone is best when the subject is posing right in front of you in a well lit area. Half of the pics I take otherwise are blurry.

So, if someone really cares about its camera enough to pay attention to all the "improvements", why wouldn't they just go out any buy a real camera? DSLRs can be had at reasonable prices nowadays.

The camera is a selling point Apple uses to get people to buy the new iPhone. Imagine if they made no camera improvements to speak of? Would be a pretty dismal upgrade, but it doesn't change the fact that Apple's just polishing a turd.

Compared to DSLRs they're obviously crap, but they're pretty good cameras for being that tiny and with you all the time. Yeah, motion stuff can suck. I have nephews, and both my parents and I take some blurry pictures at times -- more them because I'm awesome. My sister has pretty much "borrowed" my dad's DSLR for the past few years even though she has an iPhone for just the same reason. It's hard to beat that instant shutter speed.

Still, I like having my camera on me, getting geotagging coordinates and not needing to carry another device. I bought a brand new p&s camera about three years ago, and I really haven't used it much. I thought the last time I used it was to take a picture of a subject for a news story, but no, I used my iPhone 4S. I did use the p&s more recently for a restaurant profile, mainly because of lighting concerns. But it probably would've been hard to screw up pizza sitting on a table next to a lighted window.

So yeah, they have room to grow. I don't know if they'll ever match DSLR quality, especially if optical zoom never enters the picture. But if the 5S has the upgrades that Apple is touting, It's getting really hard to justify people spending a couple hundred bucks on a p&s.

LMFAO. This thread is pretty hilarious. I'm partial to thinking you only made this thread to try and justify a purchase of the 5C instead of the 5S. To say the 5C is better than the 5S when it is very clearly not, is downright hilarious. Saying that you only need the 5C would be fine, however, but this thread... hahaha

Why The 5C is Better Than The 5 And 5S

2: Its 64bit, it may not mean much at the moment but time will tell if going 64bit will futureproof the 5s.

Futureproof? We talking about Apple users here. Nothing is future proof. Most will dump/sell their phone and buy purchase the next model regardless of the changes.

The comparision of images from the 5s and 5c will be interesting.

I quess it depends how you define "better" as in what way.
