I agree it is about personal preference. I guess for advertisement purposes white iPads are more attractive because it sets it apart from all the other tablets out in the market currently. I wonder if apple will ever consider adding another color SKU besides white or black....red maybe? :D

I had the original iPad for a year, I've had my White iPad 2 since late April and we have work-issued black iPad 2's. I can honestly say, that I've noticed no difference whatsoever when watching movies or anything else. The colour of the bezel 'gets out of the way', when you're concentrating on the content.
I did several tests with the same content, and the results were clear.

I have the white one and chose it in the hopes it would be better for surfing and fingerprint glare ... Saying that I wish the tone of white used was brighter and more clea, as I find mine close to ivory rather than bright white.

I love my iPad I have an old 64Gb black one this one my 4 year old choose. She choose the white and so I got my white iPad.

Aside from the obvious personal preference, there are practical reasons for choosing white over black: (1) white bezel does not show finger prints, (2) does not show reflection, (3) hides scratches better, and (4) blends in better when viewing contents with white background (e.g., mail, books, most websites).

Of course, there are practical reasons for choosing black over white: (1) blends in better when viewing contents with black background (e.g., most video, many photos), (2) makes border seem smaller than it is, and (3) hides front camera and ambient light sensor better.

I bought a white as it matchs all my other apple products but got a orange smart cover as it matchs the orange speck case on my MacBook and iskin orange iPhone case. Plus they all look so good next to a tangerine iBook
:apple:

covered my 1st gen with a full body skin...zebra striped :D
looked at both and almost got the white one until my daughter said it looked like an early ipod on steroids:D

This is like the black/white iPhone debate. It basically comes down to personal preference. I have a white iPhone 4, but I still have the original iPad. However, when the iPad 3 is released, as long as it's available in white, I will be purchasing it. For me, I'm pretty OCD about keeping my electronics clean. White helps to hide the fingerprints and even dust accumulation.

I think it's safe to say that most people prefer the black iPad over the White, so why is it that in almost every advertisement companies choose to go with the white iPad?

I think it's safe to say that most people prefer the white iPad over the black.

why? cuz it looks retarded to have a white USB cable pugged into a black iPad

I love my white iPad. I have the original black one, well, my wife does now, but there is something about the aluminium back and white bezel that makes it all so nice :)

Especially with the grey sleeve I got for it :p

Very 80's perhaps?

Because it was the only 64 GB wi-fi they had at the store when I bought it shortly after it came out. Doesn't bother me though!

once you go white you never go back

well it doesn't rhyme but holds true all our products if they come in white are just that ..anyone can get the black one ..
