It seems that since I upgraded to High Sierra quite often when I click on an email it doesn't load. I wait a while but it still doesn't load so I must try another email (which always opens) and then go back to the one I initially tried to open and it will then open. Can I fix this problem? Thank you.

We can see what you asked (but not why you asked it)
And, now that the OP has answered your question, you can see that, in this case, a yes or no answer is not really too helpful.
What will you do with this grand piece of information?

I've had exactly the same problem with Mail being buggy. No cloud here. Started with High Sierra.

Yes. It seems to be a bug. I can live with it.
