I'm sticking with my iPad plugs.
They are good and charge fast.

Talking about the fast charging situation, it seems the new usb c ones and the traditional 12w iPad chargers don’t have much difference when it comes to charging time. I’m sticking to my iPad charger rather than spending more money on another brick.

I'm not really worrying about wear and use of the port, never had an issue before.

Was not sure I would care for the wireless charging be have found it to very convenient dropping on the pad and just picking it up when you get a call. I also figure less wear and tear on the port! It is a luxury but worth it.

Could it be because you didn’t realise the degradation because of having the plus models always? Because I definitely noticed it on my 6.

I believe so. Yep. Bigger the battery, less cycles, the less stress it takes imo.

Hope the 8+ doesn’t get to that point. I’m not looking to upgrade before at least 2 years. Although with IUP now, I might go on a yearly cycle.

Yeah I was planning on keeping my 6s+ but because I was on the iUP the 8+ was too tempting for $117 out of pocket. lol.

Tho, I'm planning on keeping my 8+ 2 years if I can.

Doesn’t the longevity of the battery take a hit if you keep it at 100% all the time?

I read something online by an expert who said ideally smartphone batteries should be kept charged between 30 and 80%. If I can find the link I'll post it.

Personally, I always charge up to 100% and usually never let it go below about 20%. I can't say I've had any problems (I thought I did, but it turns out the slow charging from 60-100% is normal).

Yes the optimum charge for lithium ion batteries would be 40-80 % but you don’t really need to be that careful on a day to day basis. But keeping it always at full charge or low charge might degrade the battery faster than usual in terms of charge holding capacity in the long run but it seems even that’s not as widespread as I thought it was.
