How does the call quality compare to cellular?
You’ll never know. You are using an iPhone 5s.
How does the call quality compare to cellular?
Keep it as a tool in your bag. You never know where life puts you and it may have you in a place with nothing but wifi. Switch it on, make your call and be thankful. Maybe its not in the end a day-to-day feature for you but really, never again?agreed. same thing happened for me. Once I get it working again I will give it 1 more try then I will never use it again unless it works perfectly.
I know that, all I want is the extra coverage in hospitals etc. Yet, I can't complete the sign up, gives me a red error on the address bar firs line no matter what I write be it a letter o numberWhile your plan is older this new feature changes nothing for you. You still have the same limits you had prior. What this changes is your ability to communicate if you're in an area with poor radio coverage but available wifi. If your normal month is 10 text messages then you will still be able to send 10 as before. Billed is just a way of saying this feature uses your current plan in the same way as before.
You're being absurd. One has nothing to do with the other. If you have bad coverage with ATT, why did you choose them as your provider???? If you happen to be in an area with bad coverage, with wifi you have an alternative if wifi is available. No one is forcing you to use it. Don't turn it on. Some of you people amaze me with the ridiculous statements you make.
Sorry to hear that and I have not seen any other examples that I could pass along to you. Try your basics if you have not already like rebooting your phone and trying again. Not talking down here, just chatting suggestions since I have no other ideas at the moment outside of calling in to support. Sorry.I know that, all I want is the extra coverage in hospitals etc. Yet, I can't complete the sign up, gives me a red error on the address bar firs line no matter what I write be it a letter o number
I just disconnected mine and I'll see how it goes but I sure would like to get rid of it!Yeah... does WiFi calling completely obsolete the M-Cell tower? Can we get rid of those? Is there any reason to keep using one?
can't get it to take street address, no matter what letter/number I put in, I get the red error tab...
Did you get it working?
I bought my phone through apple upgrade program and it gave me no errorsTalked to AT&T Tier 2 and Tier 3 support. According to them, if you purchased a 6s, 6s+ from Apple directly (didn't mentioned 6, 6+), those are not yet currently capable of Wifi Calling on AT&T. Something about there needed to be an agreement attached to the account when you purchase the phone, and Apple was not doing that.
I have a 6s+ from Apple Day one, purchased full price, and i get the error about your account not currently setup for wifi calling.
You do need a new sim Card, so if you have an old one, you will need to change it out. But they say they are working with apple on this. Now no idea if this is true, but they are not able to hit the switch and apply the agreement on the backend on my account, as they get an error.

There is another post on here that says if you bought it from Apple it's not setup for Wi-Fi Calling.
Hmmmm dunno

HD Voice isn't as generic as VoLTE. T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon use AMR-WB (adaptive multi-rate, wideband) while Sprint uses EVRC-NW over its CDMA 1X Advanced network.AT&T is not the only company with HDVoice in thier ad's. Verizon uses the same name because its not a brand but a technology. Also, HDVoice is not everywhere VoLTE is yet.
Edit: Had to look, but T-Mobile uses the term too.
That's right - it uses your minutes. Of course. You're being charged minutes to use your own wi-fi network when their cellular signal is insufficient to maintain a call.If they actually do count against my limited minutes, that's ridiculous.
Except not everyone uses Skype for calls. And others don't have iPhones.![]()
As long as they don't block whatever ports AT&T is using. My corporate IT blocks ports for mail, and wi-fi calling is not working here. I have left a message for IT but the chances of them opening ports to allow wi-fi phone calls is next to NIL.This feature is most useful for places where providing service wouldn't be possible. Like in the basement of my university's library, or the basement of my house. Both places that are underground and not exactly able to get cell service even though there are towers right outside.
Please let us know how that turns out. I'm hoping to do the same with mine.I can finally get rid of those crappy microcells I have that constantly need to be rebooted.
Sounds like they need to hold a training seminar for their support staff. I pre-ordered my AT&T 6S+ from Apple at full price, and it works just fine with WiFi calling. I wasn't, and never have been, asked to accept any sort of agreement making the service possible...Talked to AT&T Tier 2 and Tier 3 support. Still nothing. I do have the T-Mobile model though, maybe that's why? Idk...Did you get it working?

Hey, I don't want you to get the idea that I'm trying to compete with you on the terms or anything. I read your post "A benefit of WiFi calling is that it also means if you're in an area where WiFi Calling is available, you now also have AT&T's HD-Voice, their branding for VoLTE -- a capability of 6/6S iPhones." as HDVoice is equal to VoLTE as in they are the same thing. Sorry if I misread your quote.HD Voice isn't as generic as VoLTE. T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon use AMR-WB (adaptive multi-rate, wideband) while Sprint uses EVRC-NW over its CDMA 1X Advanced network.

no worries....
Thanks rob this did it! I went into google and wrote my avenue address and it gives it way different than USPS, once I put the avenue address like it said on google maps it worked and now I have WIFI callingYou have to enter it EXACTLY. My address has Street in it and I got the same error. I looked my address up on Google and it shows St, abbreviated, no period. I tried that and then it worked.
