Wi-Fi connected drive for Time Machine?

As the title states, is there a current solution for Macs (specifically M1) in which it is similar to Apple's now discontinued Time Capsule?

There are quite a few routers out there now that support Time Machine. I use this ^ Synology router that can run an external USB drive as a Time Machine destination.

Most, if not all, NAS appliances support TM, or your can DIY with enterprise class open source software from https://www.TrueNAS.com

Just don’t expose any NAS directly to the internet, unless you want to be hit with ransomware.
