Florida can be a boring-ass place... But if you have a cool phone, it is paradise. (Except when the hurricanes come)

I live in Palm Bay, FL and my service has always been great!

Everywhere can be a boring ass place. It is what you make of it.

For instance, I could be having fun outside playing in the rain, but instead I'm inside replying to you. :)

lol, but it rains there, doesn't it? ;) You're close to Melbourne. You could go surfing when those hurricanes come! :)

It rains too much. Though I do wanna go to the beach during a hurricane ONCE. I imagine it'd look freakishly awesome---Anyway, Florida's boring, great coverage, blahblah!

I went outside to take pictures, but we didn't get the brunt of it. The beach would be cool. I'd do it if I lived closer. It's fine to stand out there, but I don't want my car damaged. :D

You're such a boy... Though I wouldn't want my baby to get damaged either. When the hurricanes come, she's going right in the garage.

Taking pictures sounds like a splendid idea to me...

Thanks :)

Well, my car doesn't have any scratches, so I have to keep it that way. I don't know what I'll do when the next hurricane comes. I lived with my parents when the last ones came through and the area in front of the house was open and clear of trees. The power lines were somewhat close, but the poles were far from the driveway.

Now I have a house in the city, and there's all sorts of things that could damage my car! I park under a tree. The other driveway doesn't have much around it other than the neighbor's stuff. Hmm. I should figure this out. I might have to clean out the shed as my car would fit nicely in it. Maybe my homeowner's insurance would cover it! One can hope. Of course the way they pay out in this state, I'd be better off trying to bury it to keep it safe than to expect money.

You shouldn't get charged for data roaming in the US, as far as I know. You won't get charged for roaming calls. Unless you're talking about not being on an unlimited data plan.

I was under that impression, but I've checked my recent calls and some are showing as roaming. I'm not sure if I'm going to be charged for it or not, but I didn't want to take any chances as my phone DL's several MB's per day. I have it set DL full messages and all attachments on all my accounts (why not when the data is free).

We're leaving tomorrow morning and I'll be back in civilization (unfortunately) soon and will be back on the "grid.":( There are some advantages to being so far out that they have to bring the Internet in on a truck.

Overall I feel very lucky to live where I am.. I'm about an hour away from Orlando and even though I live in a place that nearly stands still I have 5 bars right now and usually I have 4-5 bars outside, and 2-3 bars inside which of course isn't a worry because I have wifi.

No 3G here in Bradenton. Ive seen reports of thee being pretty good coverage in Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch, though. Still not enough to justify the upgrade to me, though.

Just in the Sarasota/Bradenton area last weekend, there was 3G pretty solid around I-75 near Lakewood ranch and pretty far out SR64 east of the highway.

Sent an e-mail to AT&T to ask if there was an ETA for 3G in the Pensacola area. The CSR wrote back "I do not know. You may want to check with your local AT&T store."

Friday morning my wife's Moto showed 3G instead of E. I contacted a local AT&T store and was told 3G went live that morning. I ordered a 3G iPhone that afternoon.
