Is this what you need? I don't know how to add the screenshots like you did.System Preferences>Network

Select the Ethernet connection (or adapter or whatever it may be labeled).

Click on the Advanced button, then get screenshots of the DNS and Hardware tabs.
OP’s iMac G4 only has 100 Mbps Ethernet according to Mactracker though.OP is using the Netgear Powerline 1000, which is Gigabit speeds.
In the DNS tab, where you have the plus button, add another DNS entry. But BEFORE you do that, copy down the DNS entries you see there right now. Sometimes when you try to enter a new DNS the preset ones disappear. We want to be able to add those back if they do.Is this what you need? I don't know how to add the screenshots like you did.

Ahhhhh, I didn't think about that. Makes sense. Another reason I do not use AIOs. No way to add cards.OP’s iMac G4 only has 100 Mbps Ethernet according to Mactracker though.
Use jpgs or pngs, not tiffs. When you attach JPGs/PNGs you'll get an additional button that allows you to 'Insert' as either a thumbnail or the full size image.I don't know how to add the screenshots like you did.
I got 960 Kbps with the changes. In the DNS tab, where you have the plus button, add another DNS entry. But BEFORE you do that, copy down the DNS entries you see there right now. Sometimes when you try to enter a new DNS the preset ones disappear. We want to be able to add those back if they do.
For the new entry, add: 1.1.1.1

Then close the boxes and apply the changes. See what happens.
Uhhhhh, yeahh. Not good. Something is whacky somewhere.I got 960 Kbps with the changes.
I turned the Airport Extreme card off while doing everything. I know I'm not going to get blazing speeds but 80-90 Mbps would be niceUhhhhh, yeahh. Not good. Something is whacky somewhere.
BTW, you don't happen to be using your Airport Extreme card at the same time you're using the ethernet adapter do you?
Did you try this, out of interest?I know I'm not going to get blazing speeds but 80-90 Mbps would be nice
It took about 45 min on the imac to downloadDid you try this, out of interest?
Unfortunately I don't have a hub/switch and the Mac Studio only has 1 ethernet port. Do you think a Airport base station would work and if so which model? Some things you might try.
1. Attach a hub/switch to the powerline adapter and then plug cable from both the Studio Mac and the iMac into the hub/switch.
2. Does the Studio Mac have two ethernet ports? If so, you could try plugging the Studio in to the adapter and then running a second cable to the iMac. You'd Internet Share via the Studio Mac to the iMac.
3. Attach an Airport base station to the adapter and then use WiFi from the iMac. That requires a little more setup.
I have an Airport Extreme, but the regular base station should work. You just need to put it in Bridge Mode and assign it a static network IP address that is outside the range that your primary router uses. Give it a different BSID network name and have the iMac connect to that.Unfortunately I don't have a hub/switch and the Mac Studio only has 1 ethernet port. Something like this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/195027363385?epid=108884189&hash=item2d68896639:g:XzcAAOSw3Hdhb2Zj&LH_BIN=1I have an Airport Extreme, but the regular base station should work. The file is 4.72 GiB, so that translates to about 15 Mbps.It took about 45 min on the imac to download
I don't have much familiarity with the first one, but the second is similar to what I have if not the same model.

At $10 and 100% for the seller I'd go for it.This is the newest model that supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac

I ordered it. Hopefully it helps the internet speed on the iMac G4.At $10 and 100% for the seller I'd go for it.
Do you think this will result in faster speeds than a direct Ethernet connection to the Powerline adapter?3. Attach an Airport base station to the adapter and then use WiFi from the iMac.
It totally depends on how your house is wired up. I use a 2GB Powerline adapter from downstairs where the 1GB/s down router is. I get 200Mb/s tops. Fast.com is giving me 130Mb/s right now. That's some overhead. You'll never get the full speed over powerline, but it gets close.
