I just got off the phone with ATT. I have always used a micro-cell at my home because of poor coverage. When WiFi calling launched, I was anxious to give it a try. I tried activating and got the "oops" error. I called ATT and they said I needed a new sim card. Got one and tried again, no go. They said since mine was the T-Mobile version, it was not provisioned for WiFi calling and wouldn't be anytime soon. Bummer right? Well here is whats worse... Ever since changing my sim card, my MicroCell isn't picking up my phone and now I can't get service at home! Beyond ticked off!
Yes we'll all these things take time to refresh in the system and propagate properly.. Changing sims or phines( with a new sim usually) always requires some update to the microcell. Some find that all they need to do is drop the number in question from the microcell and then wait 10 min and add it back. With a reboot in between for good measure. Others find that a total deactivate and reactivate after say 30 min in required and then add the number back and all the other numbers. That last one usually dies it all the time but can take up to two hours to be fully activated.

I'd be very surprised if you could simply change the sim and not have to do at least one of these steps on the microcell

WiFi calling up and running! Turned it on yesterday afternoon and it popped up this morning next to my WiFi signal icon.

New SIM card will require you go back into your Microcell setup

Idk how but SIM card swapping does work for certain things.
Example, when AT&T launched VoLTE i was using my iPhone 5S SIM card (which is not a VoLTE SIM card, my friend is an engineer for AT&T and told me they exist).
So i promptly went to AT&T, changed SIM card and VoLTE worked like a charm.

Whether or not its the same issue for Wifi calling I can't say. my iPhone 6S Plus tells me "contact AT&T". I haven't had the time to go to the store though and change SIMs

I had to reboot the phone and it is working... I have micro cell and disconnected it before I did the roboot works fine... 6S+....

i don't know why but my wifi calling is not working it gives me an error message whenever I try to place a call and I am on "AT&T wifi" so I have to turn off "AT&T wifi" in order to place or get calls

Anybody else?

Or anybody know the fix for this?

I have done network reset and setting reset and nothing
i called ATT - I have a 6s+ - they said they were having problems getting wifi calling to work on certain model - the A1567 model i have being one of them - they said were working on it and to jeep trying once in awhile and it should work eventually

I have 6s+ and it works great...

Was it as good as HD Voice?

I think the call quality is on par with FaceTime Audio, which, for me, has always been crystal clear. To me, the calls made over Wi-Fi seem to be even better than HD Voice. HD Voice is good; but I'd give the edge to Wi-Fi calling.

Of course, it's dependent on the Wi-Fi connection you're using. I have a gigabit fiber connection, which maxes out around 400 Mbps up and down on the iPhone 6. Obviously, that's more than enough bandwidth for Wi-Fi calling purposes.
