I've had wifi issues on pretty much all the Apple devices in my household:

rMBP and MBA on Yosemite
iPhone 5S on 8.1.1
iPhone 6+ on 8.1.1

Sometimes the devices just don't see one of my networks, sometimes they connect ok but the Internet access is painfully slow or non-existent.
Getting pretty tired of it too...

My wifi issues are back on my 6 plus after almost 2 weeks of no issues. Seems to happen when I leave the wifi network and then try to reconnect. This is getting really annoying. Guess Im gonna go back to leaving cellular data off when connected to wifi.

Knock on Formica, but my 6+ has been fine for the last few weeks. When I first got it I would lose WiFi in my house almost every day.

I did flash the latest FW into the router as well and set the 2.4GHz range to use 20MHz only. Not sure if that helped or not but had no issues after I did that.
Have had no issues at work on the corporate WiFi either, it was just at home.

That being said, I'll probably start having WiFi issues about 5 minutes after I submit this post

That almost certainly solved your problem since Apple doesn't support 40 MHz in the 2.4 GHz range and for good reason.

When 2.4 GHz is set to 40 Mhz , it uses 2 of the 3 available non-overlapping 2.4 GHz channels or all 3 if a channel other than 1, 6 or 11 is chosen. Any time I see one of my neighbors set up 40 MHz in 2.4 GHz I want to go over and smack him in the face since it causes major interference for everyone else. It's equivalent of having someone park their car on your lawn.

Pretty sure it was the default on my Cisco/Linksys router from what I recall.

Interestingly the other dozen WiFi devices in my house never had a lick of trouble with it set to 40MHz though. But if setting it to 20 makes the iPhone happy then I'm fine with it :)

Just to add my 2¢ worth. I've been having WiFi issues on both my 4S & my iPad Air 2 since updating to 8x. Just like the WiFi on Yosemite on OSX. Seems the need some new WiFi developers all around.

Same here. Wifi Issues on my Air 2 and my old iPhone4 still tuning on iOS7 has absolutely not problems

I have read in other post about the WIFI issues and people buying new routers / Wireless systems seems to have fix the problem. This is the first time I have heard about the 20 / 40 MHz setting. I checked my system and it was set on the 40 MHz. I switched it to the 20 MHz setting, turn on cellular data (See my post farther up) and no drop outs yet!!

My guess is that the new routers / Wireless equipment came with a default value of 20 Mhz and that is why things started working.

Nice! I haven't had any WiFi issues either since switching to 20MHz, so hopefully this will continue to keep my iPhone happy :D

It should. You might want to also check out Apple's recommended router WiFi settings page. Some of the recommendations aren't set in stone, for example I use Mac filtering without any problems and Apple recommends against using it, but it's a good overall guideline on how to set things up.

There's also this article which explains why using WEP security instead of WPA or WPA2 slows down your network and why WPA2 is the best:

I decided to buy a new router (linksys wrt1900ac) and also tried a restore. I still have wifi issues when I keep cellular data on.

Check page 24 of your manual for the WRT1900AC and make sure you select 20 MHz and not auto. It looks like selecting auto would default to 40 MHz. That's what happen on my router.

Also, go through the guidelines that Morac has links to Apple support.

Thanks I already have it setup that way. I have returned the wrt1900ac and gone back to my e4200v2. Im trying the 2.4ghz with 20mhz only hopefully I wont have any issues now.

Don't know if this has anything to do with it, but Linksys routers are now made by Belkin. Belkin bought Linksys from Cisco. Belkin is known for making crappy routers.

Great thinking lets blame the makers of the router instead of Apple. People have been experiencing wifi issues with iOS 8 and onwards no matter what router they have. Wifi issues have always been around whenever a new os comes out.

I have a Cisco Linksys router and the range has always been pretty poor compared to other routers.

I did have Wifi issues when iOS 8 first came out, but haven't really had any wi the 8.1.2 update. Pretty much everyone I talk to says Wifi works fine.
