What I want is impossible to do. I want to WIFI images directly into photos from Powershot. Not possible. Can you not do it the same way as this:
Just checked and there is a MacOS version of image transfer utility for your SX740HS (think that is yours right?).
Also, 1 search.... thats all it took on Google. 1 minute to get to the solution. Come on mate not being nasty, but put some effort into it.
If I have to import into photos then I would rather use a cable.if you can send them to your phone, you can probably send them to your computer, although you might have to subsequently import them into Photos (I don't use Photos, so not sure how that works).

Powershot has a separate library than the system standard library.Yes it is, you send them straight to your phone and let it sync them into photos from iCloud.
OR, get an eyefi card that sends them immediately upon capture.
Transfer them to a location on your Mac then have an automation flow that gets photos to import them for you if you don’t want to do it manually.
Automation flow? I will have to look that one up.Use an automation flow to do it. Automate it once, then it will do it for you

They are like macros but at the operating system level. They save loads of time for tasks you do over and over once you get your head round themAutomation flow? I will have to look that one up.

Greek. I have never used this feature.A separate library is irrelevant. Use Automator to trigger a sync of that folder and copy new images in there OR, store them in some arbitrary location and get the Automator to tell photos to import, copy while doing it to the Powershot folder.
You should. I suspect that it could be useful for youGreek. I have never used this feature.
Yup… also the wifi connections typically send a reduced resolution version intended for web sharing.I just watched through that video… wouldn’t it be faster or more convenient to just plug the SD Card into a reader or use a USB cable from the camera to transfer? That looks like a hassle (like most standalone cameras with the wireless transfer feature).
Then I will stay with USB cable.Yup… also the wifi connections typically send a reduced resolution version intended for web sharing.
Are you simply asking if other people with Canon P&S cameras like yours want Canon to implement a feature, or are you asking how to solve a problem? It’s not clear what your goal is here. If the latter, a lot of great suggestions have been given. If you can be more clear, perhaps we can help. What I want is impossible to do. I want to WIFI images directly into photos from Powershot. Then I am better off using USB.Wifi transfer will be dirt slow no matter what camera you are using.
Sure, but if you want fast transfer speeds use a card reader. Then I am better off using USB.
Those do not come standard on my MacBook pro.Sure, but if you want fast transfer speeds use a card reader.
This is true, doesn’t mean there are not ways to do it though. Those do not come standard on my MacBook pro.
SD Card reader costs $8-$15 on Amazon. Keep one at home and one in the laptop bag. Simple solution! Those do not come standard on my MacBook pro.
Me too. But that is unrelated to this thread. What I want is impossible to do.
