Don't even think about doing it! Seriously..
OSX 10.6.4 is unstable ATM.

But same question again: If I put in the Snow Leopard CD and install everything as normal, will I loose all of my programs + boot camp?

If you do a clean install, you will loose all settings, files and applications. However, your Boot Camp partition, as far as I know, should be OK.

i also noticed wifi problems since the 10.6.4 update.

at least, with this thread i know it's the update...

wifi speed is limited and pages are loading and reacting much slower.

10.6.4 totally lunched my wifi, no doubt about it. Verizon DSl, Westell router, two Airport Extremes, I tried every suggestion for a fix and nothing worked. Zero, zero, zero. If the update screwed your network don't waste time with any system fixes or anything not related to network settings. You must create a manual DNS server. I joined OpenDNS to use their DNS server setting and for the first time in a week I have my home network back. The reason it was great for me is that you take their links and they not only step you through it, but tell you if it was successful. The second I followed the info for changing the DNS on my Westell router to Open DNS and told everything to just follow that I was back online after following every d@mn other advice Google found for a horrible week !!!! : )

Internet slow after 10.6.4 update

I had exactly the same problem after updating my mac to 10.6.4. I did the usual and trawled the net but could not find a decent fix. It became very very frustrating so in the end I rang apple and luckily I spoke to a technician who had exactly the same problem with his machine. He explained it doesn't effect every mac for reasons I wont go into here but in order to fix this problem 100% guaranteed, you need to do a reformat and a reinstall. This should be done periodically anyway to keep your machine running in tip top condition. I wasn't happy to have to do it but in the end I'm glad I did.
For those who have not done this before see instructions below.

1. Back up your disk with time machine to an external HD
2. Boot from installation disk (holding down C)
3. After choosing english language select utilities from menu bar and select disk utilities.
4. Select your mac hard drive, erase, and in security options select "zero out disk" and erase.
5. Reinstall operating system with installation disk, when done update to 10.6.4 assuming that was the system you had installed when you backed up.
6. Reboot again holding C with installation disk, select utilities then restore option, choose your time machine backup and away you go. FIXED!

It take a while but you will probably spend just as much time hunting the net for fixes that just wont work and anyway you end up with a clean install that will probably fix other little bugs you were unaware of.

I'll try my reply again since my 13" MBP lost it's connection for the second time in the last 5 minutes. It is losing it's connection constantly and my wife and I are ready to throw this thing out the window. My iMac is in for service right now because the graphics keeps screwing up on it. Our Mini feels like a 486 compared to the iMac, despite being the same spec wise as the MBP. Having a hard time with Apple this week. Looks like now I get to spend half a day of my upcoming vacation reinstalling the OS on this piece.

Edit: I didn't realize this thread was old. I thought I just went to 10.6.4. Not sure why my crap just quit working. I'm updating to 10.6.5 now in hopes that will fix it. I haven't changed anything aside from my iMac being removed, but that won't impact my wireless performance at all.
