Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are being handled this way in the new IOS 11 CP so that you can disconnect without turning the "radios" off. This is by design, as other features use them - Apple Watch, Apple Pen, Airdrop, Airpods and other headphones, etc.
That's my main contention with the notion of using 3D Touch for this. 3D Touch already open the connectivity panel. Either having a different level of pressure or worse, another 3D Touch once in there, just isn't a good UI. Since I like the way it's works now I voted for "Only disconnect from network"
Here is why I don’t like the “tap to disconnect only” current feature: when I do disconnect my phone usually automatically reconnects to my WiFi within 10 or so minutes. There are times I’m home or at work and do not want to connect to WiFi. The swipe up and turn off WiFi feature is perfect.
Having WiFi on constantly is a bit of a security issue as well since WiFi is constantly sending out “who are you this is me” signals.
I don’t like it but apple seems to want it this way so I guess that’s the way it will stay.
I think we should vote wether the WiFi toggle in the control center should be configured to turn the chip off completely or to only disconnect from a network.. or just choose with 3D touch what to do.
To what end? Do you think the results of any poll will cause Apple to change the behavior? Especially a poll that's split 33%/33%/33% (or very close to that).
