Hah, I really don't know.
DKC2. hmm. If the controls weren't so loose I might have bought that.

Sweet. Hoping to see DKC2 in the US soon. Although, I haven't even bought the first DKC on Virtual Console yet. :D

DKC2 was my most favorite and most difficult, in my opinion.

We're not going to talk about Starfox DS :( luckily the game was out in US before UK so I actually made a minor profit on reselling it.

The CC is brilliant, just not for N64 games. I haven't got it yet but I imagine the ocarina playing on Zelda would be broke because of the controller  I'm being deadly serious too. First company to develope a fully working N64 controller for the Wii gets 4 orders off me.

I wasn't sure, I'll just be happy I didn't pick it up.

Just buy a CC, if not for N64 games, for the other games. It really feels much nicer than the N64 controller. :) The anolog stick is nicer and a bit easier to handle since it's not as tall. It's also in a more thumb-friendly postion.

The only thing that would be weird, is how they would handle the placement of the a - b and c buttons.

And on the N64 thing, it takes me a minute of jiggling its power adapter to get mine to turn on these days.

4100 points. Gah that number looks so pretty I don't want to download anything :D

A little check saw there was no Friday update. They really did just push Virtual Console Friend back 2 days. There was me hoping they were going to spoil us too

I hope they don't! It's great on a Friday. 6 months in and it's become a sign of the weekend is starting. You buy on Friday and play the hell out of it on Saturday, before Doctor Who is on.

Plz don't change it NoE :(

They actually took the games down again Wednseday/Thursday. I'm sure it'll be back to normal next week.

I actually think GameCube controllers work awesome for N64 games. I never really liked the N64 controllers that much though, so yeah.

New releases for Eu already up:

DKC 2
....
You guys are so lucky! I love that game!

Today (US, May 21, 2007):

The three new classic games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the channel every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

Donkey Kong Country 2™: Diddy's Kong Quest™ (SNES®, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): In the sequel to the immensely popular Donkey Kong Country™, Diddy Kong® gets the spotlight, along with his girlfriend, Dixie Kong™ - a great little monkey with a dangerous ponytail. The action starts on the wreck of King K. Rool's Gangplank Galleon that has apparently broken up on a reef offshore from the Kremlings' Island. Diddy and his friends will have to work together to rescue Donkey Kong®, exploring all the hidden areas of the Kremlings' island: a spooky haunted forest, treacherous swamps, a giant beehive oozing with sticky honey and lava-filled caves, just to name a few.

Streets of Rage™ 2 (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): To celebrate their defeat of the Syndicate exactly one year before, Blaze, Adam and Axel met for drinks. The next morning, Axel received a frantic phone call from Eddie "Skate" Hunter, Adam's younger brother, whom he was living with on the edge of the city. Blaze and Axel found Adam and Skate's house wrecked, and a picture showing Adam chained up at the feet of Mr. X. The city then once again returned to its nightmarish state as criminals ran rampant. Unable to contact their old friend in artillery, Axel and Blaze team up with Skate and Max Thunder to free the city and rescue Adam from the Syndicate. It is up to you to take down Mr. X once and for all.

Blazing Lazers (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): Blazing Lazers is a vertical-scrolling shooter that was praised for surpassing the limitations of the hardware of its time. Players control the extraordinary firepower of their Gunhed Star Fighter to take on the Dark Squadron that has begun its invasion of Earth. Collect power-ups to increase your ship's battle strength so it can cut through enemies and defeat the bosses in all nine areas. Of course, as part of the "Soldier" series, the game contains a good combination of fast-paced speed with catchy, drum-propelled background music, coupled with the Field Thunder that can be used to destroy enemies in one fell swoop for the ultimate sense of satisfaction. With its fine-tuned difficulty levels, Blazing Lazers is a shooting game that anyone can enjoy.

Personally, I'm waiting to spend points on games I haven't owned but want to play. So, DKC2 will remain on my waiting list.

shhhheite! SoR2! We must be getting it Soon. Sega are good at releasing games cross region close to each other.

I'd love to give SoR3 a try too.

Nowt for me this week, I still have beyond oasis, castlevania and kid icarus to finish. Man, I played the crap out of SoR2 when I was a kid, great game.

Mario Bros 2 is out here! And 2 others that I've already forgotten.

I'm tempted to buy. Didn't like the GBA version. This is one of them games that the NES graphics charm works really well on (just like Kirby and Mario Bros 3 IMO).
Probably just a bit upset at no Streets of Rage 2 here  one of the greatest games ever be that.

Streets of Rage 2 (YES!)
Kid Chameleon
ToeJam and Earl

are Europes games tonight.

SoR2 is on the list of legendaries :)

now... Super Metroid, Goldeneye, Yoshis Island, Sonic 2 & 3 and (somehow) R-Type 2 please Nintendo. I might put Majoras Mask on there since I only played the original for a short while.

As a kid I was always frustrated by II for some reason...I think I didn't like the side scrolling parts of it coming off of hours and hours of the original...am excited to give it a go again now.

Paul

I couldn't get into Zelda 2 either, but it's one of my friend's favorite games from that time, so I'lll give it a try this time around.

Must complete me Zelda collection.

WII-KLY UPDATE: FOUR NEW CLASSIC GAMES MARK WII SHOP CHANNEL MILESTONE

June 4, 2007

For six months, classic games have flowed at a steady rate into the gaming reservoir that is the Wii Shop Channel. And this week Wii™ fans will see that pool of games hit a new high-water mark, as Nintendo adds a wave of new entries: Nos. 97, 98, 99 and 100. Why not dive in and see what treasures you find?

The four new classic games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the channel every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

Milon's Secret Castle® (NES®, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone - Comic Mischief, 500 Wii Points): It is a world where music is the language of the people. An evil warlord from the north arrives and captures the castle. The princess is imprisoned deep within the castle, and the world's musical instruments are taken and hidden away. Our hero, Milon, takes it upon himself to fight the warlord, rescue the princess and recover the people's musical instruments. He has only his wits and the magical Bubble to aid him on his quest. Help Milon along the way by looking for hidden doors, finding secret items and defeating fierce enemies. Make sure to look for the shops inside the castle, where you can buy hints and valuable items. Whenever Milon finds a Music Box, he will be transported to a bonus stage. Each instrument you find will add a layer to the background music. Try to grab all seven instruments to create a performance worthy of a music-themed game.

ToeJam & Earl™ in Panic on Funkotron (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone - Comic Mischief, 800 Wii Points): During ToeJam and Earl's trip back home, a number of Earthlings hitchhiked on their spaceship and are now infesting planet Funkotron. ToeJam and Earl must track down the Earthlings in order to capture them in large jars and ship them back to Earth in spaceships. It is also their funky mission to find 10 beloved objects belonging to Lamont the "Funkapotamus," the source of all funk in the universe, so they can persuade him to return to his favorite funk-filled planet. ToeJam and Earl must use their "funk powers," such as Funk Move and Funk Scan, to assist in evading and capturing the Earthlings.

Dead Moon (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone - Mild Fantasy Violence, 600 Wii Points): This side-scrolling shooter includes a total of six scenes spanning areas from Earth to the moon. The story begins with a comet discovered in the vicinity of Pluto that is headed on a sudden collision course with Earth. Mankind narrowly succeeds in diverting the comet's course, and it crashes into the moon. However, investigations into the damage uncover that what hit the moon was not a comet, but a gigantic mother ship. Power up your ship, destroy enemies and fight your way through the bosses in an attempt to reach the moon's core and protect Earth from alien invasion. Enjoy the unique world of Dead Moon, including various stages with beautiful backgrounds, a power-up system that increases your attack as well as your defense and bosses that have you altering your ship's direction to fight them.

... and the 100th game in the Wii Shop Channel:

Zelda II™ - The Adventure of Link® (NES, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone - Mild Fantasy Violence, 500 Wii Points): Link returns to Hyrule to search for the Triforce and to awaken Zelda from an endless sleep. Embark on a quest to find the Triforce of Courage and save Hyrule from ruin. Learn magic spells, talk to people in towns to get clues, collect items to increase your power and explore six palaces where the underlings of the evil Ganon await you. This sequel to the Adventure classic uses a side-scrolling visual engine unique to the series for more technical combat, and features more in-depth world roaming as Link encounters townsfolk while on his quest.

I wonder why the US gave Link 2 all this fanfare, when it was just quietly launched on the EU a while ago. Did Link 2 originally sell better in the US than here?
