GPS doesn't use data per say, unless it's AT&T's where it downloads maps on the fly. With something like Navigon, the only data usage would be looking up POIs with Google, and that is very low data usage.

I am on the 200 plan and use GPS all the time. I end up using less than 100 MB and often less than 50 MB.

YouTube is another issue.

This, GPS will just consume data if you load maps on the fly, like Google Maps. However, Google has such great compression algorithms that maps render very fast with very little data. That could be seen and experienced on the 1st Gen iPhone that was EDGE only and still Google Maps loaded *very* fast.

Does any one know anything about AT&T or Verizon business plans and discounts?

Apparently if you have a facebook email address(which anyone can get now) you get a 12% discount from AT&T and Verizon? If you go to a school and have a .edu address, chances are you get a 15% discount off your service(thats the case with the University of California at least)

facebook loophole has been plugged up on verizon. I can't say the same for ATT. I just got my facebook.com email address a few weeks ago to try this out and they said I wasn't elligible.

With what you have listed you will be doing you will need at least 2GB. I go through almost 200MB a day and thats hardly ever using Netflix/YouTube/Pandora. I use roughly 4.5GB a month and I'm not nearly as heavy as a user as others I know. It all adds up quickly.

Like I said earlier, you can change data plans on AT&T. So buy the 2 GB your first month then look to see how much you use. If it is less than 200 MB then change your plan to that option.

agreed i used 200 one day without even doing anything that i can remember that would of used that much, the iphone is a data hog, put me over my limit good thing i only get charged 5cents per MB over

probably not, att did plenty of analysis before coming up with these tiers and i'm sure just about everyone falls into the 200-300 range, so just past the low tier but no where near the high tier and they get to limit everyone in the high tier

That's where I'm at. I usually run 250 or so. It's like they figured that out. ;)
