I usually carry a lot of music and all my pictures with me. Same for my iPad, which is 64 GB and almost full. Therefore, I ordered the 128 GB iPhone.
Then I'll probably remove most of my music from my iPad, as I tend to listen to it on my phone more often, and both devices will be balanced out in terms of storage usage..

Anyhow, just keep in mind that you'll probably use it for one or two years (depending how often you'll upgrade your phone).

I'm more bothered by iCloud still starting at 5 GB, since I use iCloud Photo Library and roughly have 400 MB left.

I got myself the 64gb, because I have 200gb of iCloud storage, so all my photos/videos will be stored on iCloud Photo Library. I plan to keep photos/videos on the iPhone only to be optimized, not stored locally, and I don't have many heavy apps/games, so I should be okay.

I really prefer not to waste money if possible... also, I've always gotten the mid tier. When/if I get the 7/7s, I'll probably move to 128gb at that point.

64GB is enough. When I had a 128GB iPhone 6 it had over 70GB of free space. Waste of $100 so I went 64GB when I switched to the 6 Plus. I keep all of my photos/videos on the device but don't bother wasting space on music (iTunes Match makes that unnecessary).

I was originally going to buy a 64GB Plus, but ended up ordering a 128GB regular 6S instead. Would 64GB have been enough? More than likely. But it's nice to not even have to debate it. It also helps that the rose gold 128GB 6S will still be delivered to me on launch day even though I ordered it last night hehe.

I don't see myself record in 4k that much if not at all. It's huge in size not enough space to store those. Also file is too big to share casually.

Years down the track you will have wished the recordings were in 4K. It will become the standard, not now, but a few years down the track.

This. You don't know which of your quick clips will become your most treasured years in the future, so it's always worth having the extra quality if you can.

I always utter a few choice words and end up getting the highest storage available because I know I'll be keeping it for two years and I store most of my music in ALC. The cost is not chump change to me but without SD storage, the extra seems a small price to pay for not spending loads of time managing the storage.

I am upgrading from a 16gb 6+. I've been finding for many months now that I have to delete music and apps. Now that AT&T is letting me use up to 22gb of my UDP, I am gonna use my 6s+ a lot more. That's why I am going to 128gb. It's only $5 a month more.

For me no, if I upgrade I will get the 128gb model. At the moment I have about 10gb free on my 6 64gb and I would like to have full res photos on the device (as opposed to the optimised ones)!!!

Also I will likely record in 4k30 all of the time unless it's really sunny then I would swap to 1080p60

From the polls here it seems like 64 GB is the most popular size people are ordering. But given iOS 9's 4K video capabilities and the moving images, won't the phone fill up rather quickly? Or do most people not record that much video?

Well keep in mind with iCloud storage you can have your photos stored on the cloud and that frees up a lot of phone space.

Again, they will sell MILLIONS of new phones with 16gb.

And then millions of those customers find themselves deleting apps and photos to clear some space because they ran out. Atlas thats what happened on my 5S so I went of the 64GB 6S

I was just thinking about this... iCloud solves the 4K video issue. I ordered the 64gb for $299. Why pay an extra $100 for another 64gbs to get to 128gbs when you have the options below:

*based on 12 months of payments*

1. Extra $11.88 ($.99 per month) for 50gb iCloud Storage making your phone essentially 114gb.

2. Extra $35.88 ($2.99 per month) for 200gb iCloud Storage making your phone essentially 264gb.

Also, iCloud keeps your 4K video quality as original. Saw this on Apple's website:

Always original.
Down to every last pixel.

When you save photos and videos to iCloud Photo Library, your memories are always kept exactly as you took them. All your images are held in their original formats at full resolution — JPEG, RAW, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and MP4, as well as special formats you capture with your iPhone, like slo-mo, time-lapse, 4K videos, and Live Photos. And any edits you make are reversible, so you can always go back to your original shot in iCloud.

The only issue is the security concerns around keeping items in the cloud & upload speeds

Don't forget about the cost of data plans to be able to transmit that much back and forth. I chopped a lot off my bill by dropping down to a 1 GB/month. I decided to go with 128 for my 6s. When it comes time for me to upgrade, we'll see how I'm doing on storage. By that time, 128 will likely be the mid-size offering from Apple.

I would hope people are smart enough to do the transfers over night on wifi while on the charger lol

Haha, yeah, it's back or forth, not both. I was thinking of situations where you want to access the iCloud stuff when you're off wifi.

I have no way of watching 4k video, so I thought I would have absolutely use for it, but I saw this video explaining the additional editing capabilities it gives you. I never thought about being able to crop or rotate while retaining full 1080P quality, or image stabilization. Looks pretty cool. What kind of software would it take to achieve some of those effects? iMovie wont' do it, right?

Don't forget that iOS 9 has app thinning.

I've been under 32 gb all the time, so I'm getting a64 gb 6s+. My wife keeps running out of room with all the videos and pictures she takes, so she's planning on getting 128. She never bothers to upload pictures off her phone, so she is always complaining that she can't take more pictures or update her apps.

I'm happy I went with the 128. After bringing all my stuff over and getting my apps set up, I've got 84 GB free. If I had the 64 GB, that would mean I'd only have 20 gigs left for the life of the phone. We'll see how it works out.
