My former employee gave me some money in the form of Amazon gift cards.

Will Amazon sell the iPhone 13 directly(not via third party vendors) ?

I am still using my old 8 plus and it might be worth upgrading :)

Thanks

Depends on the country, but yes Amazon do sell iPhones when released and yes they sell them directly from themselves.

I remember last year Amazon, at least in the UK, had pre-orders for the 12 Pro available for launch day. They had some kind of pricing glitch (or very generous intended pricing) too, people in the UK order thread were paying £200-£300+ less on Apple's pricing. IIRC Amazon ended up honouring those orders.

I live in Italy and yes I have preordered the 13 Pro Max from them. They expect to ship on Sep 24.

Will upgrade from my trustworthy 8 Plus. Hope to see some improvements :)

Thank you all

PS What is the best way to "clone" my 8 Plus data + software + app organisations + settings onto the new one? I don't want to spend ages reinstalling apps, reentering passwords, setting notifications properly etc. I can only find guides to use iCloud to transfer DATA but would love to have much more than only the data itself.

When you first turn the new phone on, there will be a section that walks you through transferring everything over from the old phone

Thanks a lot. So the process is to keep the old one nearby, turn on the new one and hope some magic wizard will help me :) Right?

Are they expecting to deliver on the 24th? Amazon Spain is expecting delivery to October or November even though I preordered it in the first minutes.

i ordered at Amazon Germany, here they are expecting to deliver on Sep 24 too. Last years they did it one day later then Apple. Lets see how quick they are able to deliver this year.

In the UK yes. They even sell it with Amazon payments which splits the cost into 5 monthly or 12 monthly payments without the need of a credit check.

I know this is a perhaps stupid question and a very personal one but given the amount I balked at adding the insurance on top. Given that in my 3 years with my previous iPhone 8 Plus, but protected with an add on glass and case, I never broke the phone, would you be inclined to add the insurance on the new i13Pro Max ???

In case could I add it after buying it?

If you're talking about AppleCare+, you have 60 days since activation to purchase. After the 60 days I think you can still walk into an Apple Store, have them inspect the phone and if it's still in mint condition you're allowed to purchase the plan despite being out of the 60 days window.
I usually add AC+ near the expiration of the 60 days so that I can enjoy two "extra" months of AC+ after the 2 years have passed. Just gotta be careful not to damage the phone during that time.

Did you get a delivery date? For me it the status is "We will notify you via email..." I did pre order the moment it became available for me.

Likewise. 2 mins upon release and I still have “we will notify you etc etc” on amazon Italy. Amazon U.K. on the other hand are staring 17th October to 22nd November for the same item (again, They were ordered 2 mins after their release).

Got a mail from Amazon yesterday night (CEDT) saying they have updated the delivery date and that it will be fulfilled 8 to 28 October ... I don't quite mind but find the messaging confusing or even misleading.

Thanks for the clarification. Here in Europe by law guarantees cover 2 years. Of course this would only cover device malfunctions, not accidents or similar stuff.

I am not quite sure as to how this compulsory guarantee and AppleCare+ interact. Would AC+ extend AFTER the two compulsory years?

I am really undecided if shelling out approx 250 euros for it is a sound investment.

An update: this morning I found an email from Amazon saying they are delivering the 13 Pro Max on October 4th, which is four days before the first day of the bracket they had forecasted.

Almost scared :)

I used iPhone to iPhone transfer, fast and easy. Transferred 6S+ to 13 Pro Max. I had also backed up the 6S+ to my computer as a fallback.

No AppleCare+ runs concurrent with the 2 year manufacture warranty. AppleCare+ covers accidental damage like dropping the phone and damaging the screen or back glass. Your regular warranty covers defects that aren't accidental
