We are all expecting that Mac Pro to finally show its full potential with Apple Silicon.
M4 Ultra could be a good opportunity.
But there are contradictory rumors in this regard. Some rumors suggest M4 Ultra is possible, and other rumors say that Apple is designing all-new super super-powerful server-level chips (for 2027) with up to two times the cores of the ultra chip.
I suspect either the M3 ultra or the first M5 Ultra use, outside chance of the long rumored M3 or M4 (M5?) Extreme I guess, but I doubt it

I've wanted an APple TV the last few months. Been holding off since I think a new one should come soon. I don't wanna buy a 3-year old model, even if it's capable of doing all I need. Just waiting for a slightly more future-proof one.

I would be too. Could be as simple as new packaging, but probably nothing.
I wouldn't be so sure, honestly that's almost a lock that it's getting a refresh. Apple only ever does that when there is, but it would be surprising as I'm not expecting an Apple TV update next week, but if what you're saying is true then that definitely changes things.

Just thought of this. If they are going to announce a new Games app, than surely they will announce a new AppleTV as the new hardware this will be marketed to run on. I suspect Apple will only allow games on the Games App Store, that will run on all their platforms, including the new AppleTV. They have the tech to make it happen, they just need to do it.

Personally I highly expect a new Mac Pro to be announced with a new M5 Ultra chip in it. Along with an Apple monitor I won't buy as it'll be stuck at 27" for 1500 pounds. And limited to working with Apple computers only most likely.

Nothing at all about the M5 processor? Or is that going to become the M26 avoiding the unfortunate comparison with the M5 Ultimate Computer. Using the M26 name would also avoid Apple having to put a warning label on the box about the hazards of wearing a red shirt in the vicinity of the operating computer.

Given that some hardware, such as their displays, are multiple years old now, it makes you wonder how long it takes to get something “ready” to ship.

I, and many others I presume, have bought new Mac desktops over recent months (Mini, or Studio). I, for one, am ready to get a decent monitor. I would stretch to the price of the Apple Studio Display - but I’m not paying that kind of money for something that’s a number of years old.

Bring out a new display now, take my money. Don’t bring out a new display, my money’s going to another brand.

I maintained (what I believe became) the most accurate speculation in these forums of what ultimately became the Studio Display.

I am glad the XDR what’s mentioned in this article. It’s commonly left out entirely. However, if the author is going to cite Gurman, then they could have also included his 2022 claim that an XDR update was in the works, and that the XDR Pro Display 2 would arrive after an update to the Mac Pro:

Apple is working on multiple new external monitors as well, including an update to the Pro Display XDR that was launched alongside the Intel Mac Pro in 2019. It is possible, however, that the company’s next high-end display will ship after the Mac Pro, as the computer is further along in development than the monitor.

After all, the first report of the XDR came over two years in advance of its eventual release.

The analysts seem to rely on supply chain leaks without taking into account market conditions, or related indicators, such as increased support of Thunderbolt Five (TB5) across the Mac product line. Or the release of an OWC product that would be most beneficial to an update to the XDR.

For what it’s worth, I have lightly maintained this thread speculating on an update to the XDR at WWDC. This includes some spec considerations for this potential new display. Please add comments if this product is of interest to you.

I do think macrumors should talk about the XDR more. High end displays have never been more important and people who have the first gen XDR love the product.

I wonder if Watch SE second generation will be discontinued and won’t receive the next version of watchOS?
It’s not even 3 years old yet, it may get discontinued but existing ones will definitely get the next watchos upgrade

I was curious and looked at Apple Store to see about the Mac Pro. The waiting time is four weeks (as of 3 June 2025), which is sometimes an indication that new hardware upgrade is coming. Perhaps not...

Would like to see some new hardware but think the possibility is low. Maybe a new AirTag at the most. Would be nice if M5 gets unveiled at WWDC.

I can't remember the last time I was "excited" about an Apple conference or announcement. As has been said, the days of "...one more thing" are long gone.

There’s a slim hope that the pre-launch theft last year of boxed M4 MacBook Pros (sold on to Russians) resulted in handling changes that have meant no information has been getting out.

On the other hand, no new Mac seems likely. The entire line has already been updated to M4 (or M3 Ultra) — the only one remaining is Mac Pro.

We know that Apple planned to launch an M5 Mac before October: Mac17,1 and Mac17,2. There are only two remaining possibilities for those identifiers: Mac Pro and/or iMac+.

For Mac Pro, we have the Hidra leak. If Hidra is M3 Ultra/Extreme, then the two M5 identifiers can’t be Mac Pro. So that just leaves iMac+. However, if Hidra is the first generation of a new class of Apple silicon (with Baltra as its second generation), then it could be Mac Pro. Even if not announced next week, but later on.

I’m thinking a Summer launch event, featuring Mac Pro, Pro Display, and, most importantly, the Private Cloud Compute data center(s), thereby launching the privacy-focused aspects of Apple Intelligence that were featured last year at WWDC. iPhone 16 would get them a month or two before iPhone 17 is launched.
