All rumors point to M5 iPad Pro launching only by October this year or maybe even March of next year. However there were some rumors of M5 being in production earlier on this year.

But I see that certain combinations of iPad Pro are not in stock for pickup at Apple stores in the US, especially the higher storage variants with cellular support. But however they are shown as in stock for delivery.

Not sure whether stores stock less quantities of iPad Pro or whether this is any indication of a newer model coming at WWDC.

With no changes expected other than a chip change to M5, it is possible that M5 gets unveiled and that there are no leaks or rumors regarding it.

Unlike previous years there isn’t any justification to rush from M4 to a M5 as slightly faster processor doesn’t buy you anything. The M4 iPad Pro was to support the OLED display as I recall. What is more important is what does IPadOS 26 offer that would push Apple to increase baseline memory to some higher value. Right now it’s 256GB storage and messily 8GB RAM.

Yes. That is also another reason. iPad Pro, with 256 and 512 storage options are the only two devices with M4 having 8GB RAM. WWDC could be good time to increase RAM to 16GB for these variants of iPad Pro. This could happen with a M5 chip
