What scrolling issues.

For some reason I haven't seen any problems and it seems everyone else has the worse computers in the world.

I didn't even know people were having these problems. I haven't had any lag or yellowing at all with my MacBook. The lag might just be on lower spec'd models. I'm not sure. The only issue I've had with mine is the screen turning pink for 10 minutes after I wiped it down lightly with a cloth.

I've noticed the choppy performance too in a store particularly in the max resolution. It's pretty erratic, since some functions and some websites lag more than others. I don't think it's possible that some of the same model laptops do not lag, but others do. Most likely some of the users are just more sensitive to the sluggish performance than others.

Zero lags on 15" rMBP 2012 with only Intel graphic on - Resolution: scaled like 1680 x 1050

* All the scrolling lags in some Apple's own apps = gone since Mavericks
* Safari : http://webkit.org Version with WebGL on = zero lags and absolutely smooth (Facebook, TheVerge...doesn't matter)
* There were some stutter issue while changing to a space with Safari in it (since Mavericks) = gone since yesterday 10.9.2 update

And please stop saying the graphic card X is too weak for all the UI stuffs. You clearly can see it performs well and it's really smooth on many rMBP ...not because ppl can't see the difference between 20 and 60 fps. I don't deny the fact that it's still an issue on many rMBPs but it's clearly an software issue.

- And yes Chrome doesn't performs that well compared to Safari on scaled resolution.

Make that difference between 36fps and 60fps, because I can easily discern a video rate below 30 frames per second (and most others can as well).

It solely depends on the content. I assure you that for static scenes you won't even be able to discern 60 fps from 0 fps ;) Similarly, if the animation or scrolling is slow, its a waste of resources to redraw at 60 fps.

I've went through 5 replacements and can't really say I've noticed any major UI/scrolling lag. There is some minor lag in chrome, but I always thought this was Chrome specific. Never experienced it in safari or any other apps for that matter.

Switching between Desktops was the only time I still saw stuttering, but that's now been fixed with the 10.9.2 update, so EVERYTHING is finally smooth now.

With 10.9.2, everything is smooth now on my rMBP-13", even with the HD4000 graphics. Mission Control, swiping between spaces, etc.-- the UI animations are all smooth even at the 1680x1050 scaled resolution. Certain apps like Chrome are still laggy, but that's due to the lack of retina optimization for the apps.

After all that blame on weak GPU's, it turns out it was software all along... though I still have a new Haswell 13" on order, mainly because my usage has changed to where I need the 16GB ram and larger SSD. :D
