Apple announced they would be releasing a new version of iWork at the WWDC to go along with the iCloud version. I don't think we have any details more than "it's coming later this year."

Where's new iLife then.....

Nothing has been mentioned about ilife for a long while. When I bought my 1st Mac, it was a big selling point from Apple about the software coming free, and also a good buying point for me to help my organise my digital stuff.

However after version '11 we've had just bug/mini feature updates. Apple have t mentioned anything about the next version. It was released Oct '10 so nearly 3 years ago now, the longest ever between major versions.

Come on Apple please.....

Wouldn't enough mini feature updates count as a new version? I think it's more impoortant an app is being maintained and updated than it getting a new version upgraded. That is presuming the app does what I need it to.

Apple could have waited on some of the mini feature updates and bundled them together and called it an upgrade. Is that what you wnat? Or would you rather have features when they're ready in an update?

As Apple have seeded a small revision for iPhoto for testing with Mavericks, it seems unlikely we'll see a new version of iLife any time soon. iWork? who knows..

If Apple are giving OS X a big UI overhual at the end of next year, it makes sense to release a brand new ilife, iWork, itunes etc. then so it fits the new UI.

iOS / iCloud time warp

The last 4-5 years seem to have been spent developing iOS and web versions of iLife and iWork apps. I'm sure they're useful to some people but I have hated the stagnation of the desktop apps and becoming the lowest common denominator. Since iOS iWork still isn't compatible with most of my documents and iCloud can't hold a candle to google drive for collaboration, I'm not sure how I've benefitted at all.

I just want to see iWork develop on OS X. And, since the ruined iPhoto forced me down the aperture route, I'd like to see an innovative Aperture X with a companion iPad app for capture and reviewing/editing on the move. This app should cleverly sync my initial triage back to my RAW files in my Aperture photo library.

Given the innovation and high quality of the companion iPad app to Logic Pro X, I am hopeful this will happen with Aperture.
