Will apple exchange 6.15.00 3gs under warranty?

Are apples warranties and AppleCare transferable? What I was thinking is they won't support the guy that buys something off CL

Wow, so in theory I could have gotten my phone replaced? I had some sort of burn in on the screen in the form of a big light blob. I just replaced the LCD and digitizer myself (scratches). I was figuring I had no warranty at all not being the original owner. What do they replace a 3GS 32gb with?

You seriously think THAT MANY people would have done the JB via iPad BB upgrade in the first place AND then had warranty issues? It would be a very small amount and Apple wouldn't be out on a, as another poster described you as saying so perfectly, manhunt to catch people that had done it.

"Someone" walks in with a faulty mic but an iPad BB on their iPhone. Genius says the situation. "Someone" then walks out with exactly the same issue as before which they can get fixed through a repairer anyway for not too much and both someone and Genius go on about their daily lives.

Sure i guess the 4.0.2 update was just for fun and has nothing to do with patching the jailbreakme hole.
The only purpose of 4.0.2 was to patch the pdf vulnerability to stop users jailbreaking their devices. Apple is very concerned about jailbreakers and unlockers.

I think you underestimate the ammount of people with an ipad baseband on their iphone.

Legally speaking this violates the warranty agreement and void the warranty. Since it is unreversable they will see it. Your warranty is legally and officially voided. Legally speaking they are not forced by anything ( the law or their warranty politics) to honor the warranty. This does not mean that they can't by their good willing. Thats the point.

We know it voids the warranty. We know it's up to the Genius' good graces or oversight. I have no problem with those comments of yours at all. But i think you OVERESTIMATE how many people that require a JB that would have upgraded their software for minor updates in the OS anyway.
