Will apple Introduce the new mac mini in 10th Sep?

I think Apple tests the the new firmware of the Haswell Macs (mini, MBP, iMac) together with Mavericks. If you ask me, the next Mac hardware comes after the GM (Golden Master) of 10.9.

Agree about the skewed average because obviously the low end is bound at zero (and even that's not "real"). A better stat is the median time between models or, if you really want to get fancy, do a Poisson distribution and make a call from that.🙂

They have already updated the MBA to Haswell, So the changes are not bound to Mavericks, although some of the updates are likely to coincide with the OS release. The only machine likely to deliberately appear on Mavericks is the Mac Pro.
 
They aren't going to release a new machine a few weeks before a full OS update. If there's updates coming it'll be after or with the Mavericks release.
 
I have a theory. It seems they never release the mini's until after the school purchase push. Start of school has to be a spike sales for them and they want to push laptops which probably have a higher profit margin. My money is on an October release. I would buy one now but the upgraded wifi will pay off the wait.

I bet the updated Mac mini will appear in late Oct. - early Nov. 2013 timeframe along with the updated iMac series...otherwise, early Mar. 2014....

I think no other Mac will have TB2, until the Mac Pro comes out, since it was announced as one of its major upgrades = reasons to buy it.
They might keep it an exclusive feature for Mac Pro for the moment, otherwise, they'd risk to be creating a stillborn.
 
still waiting.

I'd love a new mini sooner rather than later - setting up home server/media centre - but i'm afraid that even late Oct is a bit on the optimistic side. Nov seems more reasonable but Mar, that just seems like unduly torturous! 😱
 
I wonder if maybe a stealth update on the 10th? The uni/college promo has just finished, so now is the time to get a new model in now stocks have been presumably reduced. I realise this is probably wishful thinking on my part however (the delivery times on the mac store are still 24 hrs). A stealth update wouldn't affect the iphone-centric nature of the event in the slightest.

I'm still with a 2009 2.0ghz c2d, ticking over and very useable, but a speed injection would be useful. I'm starting to see more beachballs. I'm hoping for 8gb ram and any kind of drive except a 5400 rpm (fusion, ssd), maybe a 128gb ssd is realistic? Wishful thinking again maybe... Maybe a new chassis design with a easily swappable drive (like ps3), that would make the mini a very attractive buy. Anyway roll on the 10th and here's hoping.

September events, if history holds, are normally for mobile devices. Can do an announcement, tough....Personally, I think all new Apple hardware this year, if any, can come after Mavericks is released....

I think Mac Mini will get updated at the same time as the Mac Pro launch, Apple wouldn't want anything to cannibalise the Mac Pro before it's even out.

We could be looking at October 30th being the day after the quarterly results call especially if the iPad gets a special event by itself at, say, the end of September.

Apple would load all of their Haswell Macs bar the already launched MBA into the Christmas quarter for a nice sales boost.

We could be seeing a Haswell refresh in mid 2014 rather than Broadwell so perhaps WWDC 2014 would be the time to launch Thunderbolt 2 for the Mac range across the board.
 
My mini is over 5 years old and is still going strong as my media server.

The only reason I will now be upgrading is it is not longer supported with osx releases. It's done me good, I may reformat and give it to the in laws as they always wanted a Mac and its still good for email and web browsing.

Think ill wait to see what the new mini has to offer but more than likely will pick up a refurbished one.

.... Ya'll gonna know the answer before the day is done.

My point of view..... the early 2009 Mini I upgraded and up dated just over a year ago looks good for a while yet, maybe with another tickle up in a year or so.

The site is going down as usual before an event and will come back up possibly with new iPhones once they have been announced.

As for Mac hardware there might be something but if there was there probably would have seen some leaks by now.
