Seems like the whiners are out in full-force today.

again, this happens every single time Apple rolls out a new computer. heck, it doesn't even just apply to their computers.

just browse the iPhone section and look for the older threads about a month ago. the same whiners who bought an 8GB iPhone and then Apple introduced the 16GB model. the same types of whiners emerged from every crack and crevice (sp?):

"man I'm pissed! I just bought an 8GB iPhone and one week later Apple porked me by introducing a better model. wha! wha! wha!"

like I said before, the circle of life continues...

vicious cycle? perhaps!

How's this? I ordered a new Macbook Thursday or Friday, and the DAY after it ships, they update the Macbooks. The only thing I really have a problem with is the fact that mine has a 80gig HD, and the new ones have 160gig HDs. Talk about a difference.

I don't know what I'll do. The Macbook is scheduled to arrive on Thursday or Friday. I suppose I could call Apple's customer service line and discuss my options.

You can leave the box CLOSED as soon as it arrives and take it to an Apple Store and exchange it with no problem. make sure you have an invoice of some sort.

Let that be a lessoned learned.

Most of us don't need the latest and greatest. If you don't then buy refurbished or the previous model line, you'll save hundreds!

but some people simply can't help it! i think the OP has an empty feeling inside.. now that the upgrade was done.
for the sake of discussion... let's say the OP was able to exchange it to the NEW and IMPROVED MBP..
come june/ next upgrade..what's preventing the OP to ask for another exchange..
it was just 3-4 months ?:D

its funny how all repliers in this post are bashing him...
give him a break, he's just a little kid =)

Who cares about the new MBP if you have the June 2007 revision....
The reason why I bought a mac is because I know it'll last for at least 3 years as apple will continue support it until 2 OSX releases later.

And the speed bump isn't that noticeable....the thread starter failed to realize it.

i ordered a refurb 17" 2.4 mbp last thursday, saw the update yesterday so i decided to call apple.

since the refurb hasnt come yet they sent me a shipping label so i just have to ship it back for a full refund and i ordered a new 15" penryn 2.4. so i am very happy. although i would be equally as happy with the refurb.

thanks apple

Lol @ this thread.

I bought my base MBP a month ago and I'm still happy with my purchase as there was no way I could have waited until now to get a computer. I use it everyday at work, home, and school and although the bigger hard drive, faster processor, and more Vram seem they would be nice they are things I really don't need. I totally expected the MBP's to be updated sometime soon and I'm perfectly content that I made the purchase when I did. Just like when I buy a phone, car, or computer I always ask myself if what I'm buying now is worth the money I'm spending on it and am I content with the product if it is updated by a newer and better one in the near future.

Well said. I just got my MBP on Jan 18th and feel just like you.

I dont even know where to start on this comment... but once i seen "God" in his sig... i knew ... such ignorance and authority could only come from someone who believes in invisible sky daddies...[/QUOTE]

i really find this amusing.. :D the OP is aiming to achieve all of the 7 deadly sins !:D
hmmm we have ENVY, GREED, ANGER, PRIDE, SADNESS, ..2 more to go.. namely LUST and AVARICE..
and all these just because of a an MBP:D

I bought the :apple: MBP and it arrived yesterday. Called apple this morning and they were more than happy (spoke w/:apple: Christopher) to return my "opened" MBP and waiving the restocking fee. I was offered 350.00 to keep the same one I already had. I opted for that because I used the edu discount and that means I had about 550 off the price of the MBP total (350 back from apple and 200 off with edu discount). Honestly I could not beat that because I paid less than the refurb price. I am very pleased with my customer service. I know I currently have the less than top of the line MBP but this is all I neeeeed!!!

I was offered the same thing!

I bought my New MBP 17' 20 days back :( and now the upgrade has a 250GB plus the Led display and Multi touch Track Pad.. Guess I should have had waited... But I never knew there would be an update.. Sad! But anyway am happy wih my MBP.. Never going back to a Windows PC again!
