Your understanding of 'Lying' is what is wrong with our society today.

I'm guessing you're under 30. Probably living off of someone else's leave, as well.

I just called AppleCare Japan about 5 minutes ago. Within 2 minutes I was off the phone with a new one in the mail. I just called and said the wire was pulling out of the base on my magsafe, exposing the wires, and he was like "oh no!" and then checked that I had AppleCare and said "yep we'll send that out to you today, you'll get it in about 4 days"

easy peasy, no hassle, no deliberating, no accusations of user damage.

try calling them, always seems to get good results.:)

I am having the same issue, and I was wondering if they provide a return shipping box or do you have to pay for shipping back to apple?
If I have to pay for the shipping, I might as well just schedule an appointment at the store. Thanks

Are you talking about me or the other guy?

Yes, they pay the return shipping as well.

they paid for it--when the driver came i had to swap them with him and put my old one right back in the box the new one came in and he sealed it up

Apple gave me a 2 part shipping label. When I want to return the old part I tear the first label off and another one to send it back to Apple is there.

I have the same exact problem with my magsafe. I brought it to the nearest Authorized Apple Service Provider (I'm in Indonesia, there's no apple store here). The people there say that what's happening with my magsafe is totally a user error, so i can't claim it to get the new one. What am i supposed to do to have my magsafe replaced? is there something i can do? i don't wanna spend another 70$ for something that i didn't do.

Thanks :)

I have had mine replaced 3 times 2 times flaw 1 time my fault.
First and second time the thing just split exposing the wires.
Third time I was using my mac on the go alot putting strain on the magsafe
and bent it really bad and split it again told apple just gave me a new one free!

Its not lying unless you dont tell the truth you, can omit the part about not knowing why it got like that, if they ask you if you did something wrong feel free to tell them. Withholding some of the information is not lying.

whatever you have to tell yourself. if you want to lie to save a few bucks that's on you, but what's the point in rationalizing it? you lied so there was a better chance of getting a free one, it is what it is. (i understand it wasn't you in this situation, but the point stands)

can i have apple send me the new magsafe and send my broken magsafe back to apple while i'm in indonesia?
