Those speeds will be temp, because there are not many LTE users. So, it will remain fast for this year. So, 26 markets will be good. I think iPhone 5 will have LTE and be launched in oct. Maybe a6 chip too.

No way is AT&T going to give unlimited LTE data... They want to get rid of the unlimited 3g data as it is...

If the new iPhone is LTE compatible AT&T is going to force everyone to pick one of their tiered plans, however they go about setting up the tiered plans is anyone's guess...

I know some reports are saying there will be two seperate plans for speed and or data...

I wouldn't mind a speed cap/throttle versus a GB cap.

i doubt it will end with data caps, i'm sure the next step is to charge extra for different types of data, which they will start with giving certain websites that don't count to your usage and people will be like "hey they are giving you free data, what are you complaining about" lol, it will be interesting what crazy stuff we will be paying extra for by the time there is 5G

Every poster has been wrong

Every poster in this thread mostly except the o.ps question and maybe one other has been completely wrong. When switching to an L.T.E phone users with unlimited data continue to get unlimited data. This is a fact, already done and answered and has been realized and accomplished by many. You can prove it to yourself if you live in AT&T lte coverage by doing the upgrade process online and it asks what plan you want and one of the options is unlimited lte data plan. The good thing is you should all be happy you were wrong because this is an awesome fact.

To anyone who said 'no' you've been proven wrong. Several users have switched to the HTC Vivid and maintained their grandfathered status for LTE ownership.

Like it or not, we all know that everyone is going to pay more for more speed and bandwidth dooner or later.

If you do not believe this then you are a guppy or fool!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

The unlimited data plan value is already done due to throttling. No way next generation is included. They have continued to offer it as a courtesy. The road is closed. Pay for usage is the new reality

This works with the LTE skyrocket. I've grandfathered about five different people into the plan who had the skyrocket. Case closed.

I had the option to switch my grandfathered plan to the Skyrocket or whatever that htc lte phone is, but I went with the 4s instead. Theres no LTE in my area, and likely won't be for some time, but the point is that they will do it. They did this with verizon as well, and still do.

As awesome as lte looks,I don't think I will jump on that ship if the price hike is worth it. maybe 5$ a month extra I can deal with but seeing people suggest att might bump it 10-25 a month extra. Ill stick with 3gs until I realize that the speed i hurting me bad.

Then why is it people have been able to get LTE devices and keep their unlimited data?

 Who are you responding to?

LTE has already been rolled out in many markets for ATT... prices are exactly the same as their 3G data service.
