excuse me, but, what are you talking about? what test?

I believe we are on about the test series of cricket. Link

Bangladesh has dismissed Australia for 269 after lunch on day two of the first Test, despite Adam Gilchrist returning to form with a sensational century.

We better escape the embarrassment ;)

Is there another sporting event going on in the world?:) The cricket test against bangladesh, who are currently at the bottom of the heap. The only previous test they have one is against a depleted Zimbabwe.

It was looking like an innings defeat for australia earlier. I Bangladesh win it will be the biggest upset in world cricket since the dinosaurs became extinct.

click

EDIT: beat me to it.

123 for 4, the Bangladeshis are really trying to put up a good fight after some early struggles.

And by the way, everyone knows that dinosaurs didn't exist. Sheesh

124 for 5 at the close of day 3. It'll take a better batting innings from Australia than the first to catch up, but they are well within striking distance. We'll see how it turns out.

I recall watching a rerun of the Australia vs. Bangledesh match when I was in India where the Aussies lost sorely (they have cricket playing on at least one channel every hour of the day). Like three or four of the top batters were out within the first 25 runs or something. Amazing if the Bangledeshi's could win it again. :D

speaking of real sport....who were those guys that threw out the first pitch, they seemed kinda lost.
I didn't get to watch, unfortunately. However, redsox.com has this:
This season marks the 60th anniversary of the 1946 Red Sox run to the American League pennant, and several surviving members of that club came out to throw out a simultaneous first pitch, including a pair of 93-year-old ex-teammates, Charlie Wagner and Don Gutteridge, as well as Bobby Doerr, Eddie Pellagrini, Dave 'Boo' Ferris and Johnny Pesky.
I figure maybe one of them (Pesky) even knew what was going on. I'm sure he remembers how to throw to home, if not from the mound. ;)

With the new legal bat or the old illegal bat?

Not that the Aussies whould ever be caught cheating the rules at cricket...

Didn't Punter score a century in both innings of a test 3 times over a period of 8 mathces recently? The only other person to do this took an entire career.

Was it against the rules at the time?

I think so but it was with the forementioned reinforced bat that he's not allowed to use anymore, because it was deemed to be cheating. Lets see how he does with a normal bat over the next year, not to well so far.
