I think so but it was with the forementioned reinforced bat that he's not allowed to use anymore, because it was deemed to be cheating. Lets see how he does with a normal bat over the next year, not to well so far.

No it wasn't, he stopped using that bat in the ODI series in South Africa, for the tests he went back to the traditional 'All' willow bat.

Here comes Australia, chasing 306 in the second innings.

Currently they are standing on 34 for 0 after 15 overs.

Bangladesh went out like a lamb at the end of their second, with their last four batsmen only marking one run in four wickets taken.

It should be an interesting day.

I'd just like to pipe up with an observation: this is a very international sporting match from my perspective today.

I'm an American living in France who's following a cricket match between Australia and Bangladesh on a British internet site. I think I've just about covered all the time zones :)

65 for 1

Also, England are chasing 223 vs. India today, but we all know England are rubbish at one-days ;)

I guess that underarm ball still ranckles after all these years.:p

I think there's something in the New Zealand constitution about having to bring up the underarm incident in all conversations with Australians about cricket.

I've actually got a t-shirt my in-laws got me (they're Aussies), it reads.

I support New Zealand (in big letters)

and any country playing against Australia.(in little letters underneath).

100.5 Shahadat Hossain to Ponting, 1 run, short delivery, Ponting goes for his favourite pull shot, gets a top edge high in the air towards fine leg, Mortaza runs in and tries to take the catch, drops it.

Dropped on 98 :(

Are you watching this England. Enjoy Ernie 'cause it'll be another 18years before you see it again. I'll be at the boxing day Test watching the final dead rubber.:p

By the end of Punter's carreer he'll be hailed as the second best batsman of all time.

Ponting is no doubt a great batsmen, he is in my opinion the best player on the international scene at the moment, and I see Hussey as a real upcoming star for the Australian team.

Australia will bounce back well in the second test, you just watch for the innings defeat Bangladesh suffers...
