I just recently bought the new Macbook pro model and I was wondering if it could run crysis without too many issues? My specs are down below. I will be using either windows xp or windows 7. Be specific please, i.e. it will run but the fps will suck, it will run and then freeze, or w.e. Thanks.

It should happily run and be playable but only at medium settings.

    ?

    Hey guys,
I think perhaps the questioner is looking for a more quantified response. Do you have the same system configuration as him/her, is that how you came to the 40fps at medium settings? Just curious. Thanks:apple:

Don't waste your time trying to play a 2 year old tech demo! Do something more productive with that machine.

Thanks for all of your responses. I just downloaded the demo in XP and it ran perfect on medium settings @ 1440x900 res. I just have one more question: which settings could I put up to high without the performance noticeably changing?

ive heard that even the core i7 can barely run crysis on max settings (gets laggy/chops up often during gameplay). so im curious on what the standard fps qualifies for smooth gameplay?? im used to play unreal tournament 2004, and 80+ fps was the standard for having the best/smoothest gaming experience. after seeing the link above for the fps we'll get with the 330m for crysis (around 28 fps) thats HORRIBLE!!!! or am i wrong? and the necessary fps now'a days for smoother game play (6 yrs past the date of unreal tournament 2004) has lowered?

Crysis won't run well on anything. But play around with the settings and see what fits best. :)

I think they designed it for computers 5 years down the road. ;)

Crysis seems like it's going to taken off the podium by it's own sequel. Which seems to be even more extreme.

It isn't that the i7 is having troubles playing the game, it's more a combination of the 330M being a mediocre GPU and Crysis being horribly optimized. Even the most tricked out custom PCs made in 2010 still have trouble running that game when it comes to resolutions of 1920x1200 and higher.

Crysis is a slower paced game than UT2004, however, and as such it can get away with 30-40 frames per second while still being playable. UT2004 at that framerate is a giant eyesore.

Funny, Runs like a treat on my System @1920x1200 with all settings at very high and 4xAA.

While this is true, Metro 2033 is currently the most demanding title out there, making heavy use of DX11 tessellation.
