I bought a full price no contract att 6 yesterday at the seattle Southcenter store. Ask for a Device Only phone. You have to buy it at the retail store...no way to order it online.

Wrong. I purchased my Verizon 5S last year and Verizon 6 this past weekend from the same Apple Store with no issues. Again I purchased them non contract device only and using on T Mobile. Seems like you need to go to another Apple Store......

Does device only purchase require a Verizon account? I guess the people at my Apple Store are just being (insert foul language here) for whatever reason. Oh well.

So do Apple stores keep some of these in stock? I mean if I drove over to my local Apple store ( 30 mins away) is there a chance I can get one of these to use with my AT&T account?

It might be worth it since, I was going to use the NEXT plan anyway. I would just pay it now rather than in 18 months.

Thanks.

No, we saw these as eligible for in store pickup in the morning. They are already gone. I wouldn't risk going to the store unless you are there super early or have the in store pickup reserved.

Ok, thanks. When you look, they're the same model number and everything. So I can order on Apple.com for pickup in store and just pay full price and bam, I'm in? I don't HAVE to get a T-Mobile version.

I haven't seen an option on Apple's online store to pay full price for a VZW device.

I pre-ordered a verizon iPhone 6 for store pickup. Once at the apple store, I didn't want to complete the contract since carrier wanted a deposit. I asked if I could purchase the device full price and the salesperson said yes. So, I guess they do let you change your mind about contract/full price once you show up.

Hmm, not bad. So are you using it on Verizon or another carrier? Did they make you sign up for anything, or just let you pay for it and leave with it unopened?

Also, when you ordered through in store pickup, did you do it as a new activation? I don't currently have Verizon, so that's what I'd need to do. Did you do the same, or was it adding onto a Verizon account?

When you order for store pickup at the apple store, does the verizon option not bind you into a contract, ie ask for social security number, check credit etc? Can you really just change your mind at the apple store and have zero liability (no ETF, activation, 2 year obligation etc)

Do shipments that arrive today at the Apple Store immediately go on sale, or do they keep em for tomorrow?

It definitely does ask for that information. My hope is that it's easy to cancel and re-buy at the apple store. Verizon gives all services 14 days to cancel with obligation (most carriers do), so there'd be no ETF or anything. I just want to see if someone has done it.

Damn, when you check availability for just an iPhone 6, any color, any capacity, they're literally EVERYWHERE. 6 Plus? Nowhere, in any size, any carrier, any capacity other than one or two 16GB, anywhere in NorCal

Ah, its quite possible you may not be able to do this. In my case even though i signed up for a new line with a 2 year contract while pre-ordering, I guess since a deposit was required, nothing was finalized until I was at the store and they asked me whether i wanted to proceed with the deposit. Once i backed out I guess I could just buy the device full price
