People having a go at will.i.am. First ask yourself, what have you ever created or done with your life? This guy has done a lot of charity work in the tech field.
If I were in the market for something like this, I would wait for the Leica one:

Exactly, this is really neat. This is just a case which adds extra functionality. If it works as a battery pack, then it's actually just awesome.
This is one of the funniest, most enjoyable threads I've ever read on Macrumors. Several of the posts actually made me laugh out loud.
That said, if it was more reasonably priced. I'd actually like to try the case with the keyboard built into it. I guess I'm one of those suckers born ever minute...
The awkward moment when you bring out a product that is already obsolete...
What exactly is plain nasty, homophobic or racist about these particular comments? You know what annoys me? Having grown up in a country where racism was a big issue, it's people that try to find racism in everything and do not know what racism actually is. I've grown up with this scenario over and over agian: "Oh, you are arguing with a person that's a different race? You racist." I am not a racist. I am prejudiced against people of all races. If somebody is being an idiot, then I am happy to point this out. The colour of their skin makes no difference. If I didn't do it and I treated people differently, because a person had different colour skin, then I would be a racist."Will.i'm not surprised.
Plastic and bling gold..."
and
"It almost looks as pointless and vulgar as the talentless Mr William himself. "

Do you also complain to the media watch dog about the saucy adverts you saw?
Here's some choice comments for you. There's either implied racial, homophobic or just plain nasty comments in all of them...Does it feel good defending these people?
What do you think is behind it all? Can you find examples anywhere else on this forum *ever* of such a pack of hyenas getting stuck in?
Anyway, enjoy.......
"Oh, but I think he IS... Will.i.believe.is.the.troll.Psychj0e
Well, judging by his retorts to all the negative comments.
Either that, or he's a will.i.want.to.suck.your.d**k fanboi? "
and
"Dear Asian Designers,
Golden painted plastic is tacky. Please stop.
Signed,
Moi "
and
"I'm pretty sure every Lil Wayne listening hoodrat will sport one of these.... cuz you know, theres gold on it."
and

"..and certain proof that the towering cock jockey is as deluded as I previously assumed." (cramming a bit of homophobia in there as well, just for good measure"

Enjoy your LOLs.
You don't have to like everything, but the amount of vitriol against the product and will.i.am is absurd. People coming out to post the same sort of lame attempts at puns is annoying and calling the man names and addressing him not by his chosen professional pseudonym, the claims of "ghettoness" and nerdy superiority reeks of racism. All of this is over a phone ACCESSORY you don't have to buy. There's many iPhone accessories but this is chosen for the most uncomfortable vitriol simply because of the designer involved. Don't get me started on the juvenile one liner criticisms of his musical talent who have no basis here as well.
When did MR turn into reddit?
Oh please....We both know that's not true:
Post number 6, page 1: "Will.i'm not surprised.Plastic and bling gold..."
Post 11, page 1: "How thoroughly un-tacky. Oh wait, I'm wrong. Anyone seen "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka!" where all the "gangsters" start dying of "over-gold". I'm hoping this starts with the bling crowd soon..."
Post 17, page 1: "You know what other ghetto device has a slide out keyboard?
The sidekick. "
I could keep going but....You get the point right?

Personal attacks, as you state, are wrong, and not allowed, I could not agree more.
But, the focus of your attention I find a bit interesting.
By that I mean, people who think they are cool (meaning they are better than me) for mutating words and spellings to make strange combinations of letters, especially of names, I find offensive because mine is simple and not mutated as is the language I use. Why no outrage there?
People who think they are so cool that they can inscribe on or associate their name with a product in order to make money obviously think they are more valuable (and I'm not talking about currency) than me, that's offensive. Where's the outrage there?
People who wear certain items or live by certain rules of fashion believe themselves to be better than me simply because I would never choose that style, that's offensive.
The exclusive membership in appreciation of certain music which elevates its listeners to a superior status than me I find offensive. will.i.am is one of the artists people in such a group listen to - he says nothing about this, and the fact his fans think themselves better than me is offensive.
People who use certain language or vernacular (which is almost always a mutation of language, and certainly not translatable) believe themselves to be a member of an exclusive (and cool) group, which means I am excluded, and that is offensive. Where's the outrage there?
People who make so much more money than the common person who works every bit as hard, if not harder, than the person that earns 100x plus in wages is an outrage and general human offence. Where is your outrage?
I could go on and on and on, but what I think is that will.i.am offends me (and billions of other people on this planet, none of whom are less valued than him in every way except money) in so many ways, but we never see anyone calling him out for being offensive, we merely give him license to create in our market a stupid piece of pointless expensive gaudy crap that appeals to people who support his offensiveness, most of whom are also offensive. I find this abhorrent and outrageous.
<stepping down off soap box>
I hope you agree with me.
