no, I've seen it in person, it looks great and feels great. But, whats that got to do about me making an observation about the obvious that happens around here? I shouldn't say I don't get the complaints I see in these forums, because it's macrumors, and all it's been lately are complaints over the mundane. People need to take a step back and realize they don't need to part with their money if they don't want to, and there are bigger things to worry about than worrying about how you wanna spend your money on a gadget that 7 years ago was non existent.

I'm waiting for the iPad Mini type R.

I absolutely agree regarding people having bigger issues but sometimes saving up for and purchasing a gadget provides some relief from the bigger issues so I guess it is important depending on your situation. :)

I really struggle with the people who say the half screen tint is a non issue because it's only people on this forum. Yes we could not look at this forum but the issue still exists. If I don't read or watch the news it still happens I just don't know about it.........still a problem though.

Just my view.........no argument sort. :)

Well, they're the same friggin' device, so... YA THINK???

The panels in the rMini have a different pixel density and will likely be made with different equipment and materials.

Given the smaller surface area of the Mini and the relative lack of complaints about the screen of the current gen Mini, I'm hopeful the rMini will fare better than the Air.

Due to my own waffling since I've never owned an iPad, it took me three tries to find the right fit for my Air. Meaning I read too many posts and confused the heck out of myself re: my usage/storage needs. Thank Yahvo the folks at the Apple store are as patient as they are and allowed me time to get it right. I've never before been this indecisive with an Apple product and have purchased them since 1989.

The point I'm leading up to is I've had 3 variations, including the one I ended up with and not one of them have had any of the reported screen issues. I'm not saying there haven't been issues, but there are many who are not.

I'm not going to pretend to be a display expert but the "issue" with the iPad air is the fact that it uses one backlight bar instead of two which causes a shadowing effect on the left side. Now I'm not sure if the mini will have the same issue because of the smaller display, but I doubt it will be. As for color issues that is a YRMV issue.

Aww man im just a grumpy long time macrumors member just tired of all the complaint threads on here lately. I secretly hope the iPad Mini type R doesn't have any issues, but I don't wanna speculate. I'm willing to wait for it and I'm sure apple customer service will take care of me if I'm unsatisfied somehow.

With the complaints regarding the new iPad Air, what will the iPad Mini RD experience when released in a few weeks? Same kind of headaches?

You won't have any headaches with a iPad Mini RD in the next few weeks because you won't be able to get one until Spring of next year :D

Oh my god you entered the wrong forum. You report news like this on the Android forums. Here we only complain about Apple.

Bite your tongue dude, never going near an Android forum. Shudder! But it seems a few others made the wrong turn too so at least I'm not alone. ;)

Copy that & have yourself a great weekend.

EVERY new Apple product brings the whiners out. It is will die down after a while. Apple know they will return multiple units, it is all built into the cost WE all have to pay!:p

Considering the retina mini screen is extremely limited due to image retention issues good luck getting one. Let alone one with a good display. This always happens. Ipad 4 ironed out a lot of the issues the ipad 3 screen had like uneven tints etc.

mini retina issues? probably much higher than ipad air, overheating etc. and the worst part they all have to wait again to get a replacement unit.

yep i do, but most of us dont have any issues

Yep, same. People see threads about problems and forget millions of users have no problems. So they automatically assume the Air has issues and ask if the R mini will have problems. I personally read that the delay was due to screen burn in issues so I'd be hesitant to buy a mini until it was on the market for a while.
