I have an iPhone on Rogers now, and have the 1 Gb per month plan.

Per month, I rarely hit 200MB (but I do have wifi at home and at work) - usage is lots of email, some web use. I would expect that my use would increase with 3G speeds.

I am debating the 400MB vs 750MB plan, but at least at present I am not too worried about having a capped limit.

So perhaps then 400mb a month isn't really that bad (by that I mean, I could get by using 400mb without worrying about going over). I was hoping to use something like Telekinesis to stream my music/movies AND listen to Sirius but I guess that will not be an option.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm looking forward to seeing if the trend of the amount used is fairly representative of others' usage.

I use about 100MB per month. However, I'm at college, which has a wi-fi connection in nearly every building!

Even with the debut of the App store, the 400 MB limit will be fine for the vast majority of people.

I use....

I receive about 900 MB a month and send about 100 MB a month. And now that I have looked at that, I wonder if I spend more time on my iPhone than my MBP....Hmmmm....All I can say is thank goodness for AT&T's Unlimited Data. The question still remains, however, as to the amount of data I use when on WiFi. I assume it to be exponentially greater! Wild....

sent 131 mb
received 1.4 gb

last reset: never

Since iDay ^, same phone.

So it seems that you don't need nearly as much data as you might think u need. I can't imagine using my iPhone MORE than I do, and yet there are some of you who blow away my data stats.

Its gonna change as more features are available. A lot more uploading will take place, and DL from the app store will make a big difference.

Any indication that the iTunes store will be opened to 3G access?

I spend most of my time on wifi so I only average 50mb/month on edge. But that's because I can't stand the slow edge speeds, I'm sure if I had 3G I would use a lot more.

So Rogers screwed us Canucks, as expected, out of the real "full" iPhone experience by capping our data and over-charging us.

Unfortunately I'll still end up replacing my current iPhone with the new one. I'm curious to know what most people use in a month. I have the 10mb plan (costs me 10 bucks!) that I use just to get e-mail so I have no idea what I would use if I actually browsed the web, etc.

I reviewed my bill summaries for the past year and I've found that for 10 of the 12 months I went over 400MB. The most in 1 month for me was 585MB.

I have a 1 hour commute each way 5 days a week and regularly surf the internet on the iPhone during that time.

I have had my iPhone since day one, and i have uploaded 65mb and downloaded 483mb. I basically use my iPhone for calls and text messaging. I don't use the data too much.

I must have been unclear. The amounts are above are my TOTAL from the entire time I have had my iPhone (day one). I have wi-fi at home and work so i rarely use EDGE.

I got my iPhone around Mar 23... it reports my total data usage as 163MB up / 1.7GB down since then, which puts me around 500MB per month usage, total, but including wifi (predominantly when at home). It's hard to estimate what part is wifi at home, but I do use my computers more and my iPhone a lot less at home, so I would guess I'm around 375-425MB/mo EDGE and the remainder on Wifi. T-Mobile doesn't seem to list data services usage anymore in their bills (which in many ways is a good thing -- it used to have two pages in every bill listing how much data you used on a day by day basis through the month, which was totally valueless information, considering there was never a per use or per MB fee).

I'd consider my EDGE use fairly aggressive -- at least to the point where it's accounting for most of my battery consumption.

I really hope you're wrong and Rogers doesn't do that to you Canucks. That's such a bad idea. On the other hand, if your figures are right and the first two plan options are 500MB and 1GB, you should be able to use data services a *lot* on that kind of bandwidth allocation.

Data usage

Being just two days from owning it a year, I use mine quite a bit and have the following data usage:

Sent: 217MB
Received: 1.5GB

Last Reset: Never

I remember my recieved stats but not sent sorry!

April was 101mb
May was 67.5mb
June almost over i have 121mb

I use wifi all the time, here in So Cal it is everywhere, I use Edge mostly while walking my dog, and while on the tread mill

Data usage and Rogers

Hi I just recently got my iPhone 4, upgraded from a blackberry, and since doing so my data usage has gone from about 50mb per month to over 500. I have not done anything different and am now trying to figure out what is going on.
I browse the net and check email, so this is a huge discrepancy.

I use around 275 MB's per month.
