I may have to try it out on my older pc thats been sitting in my closet. A lot of the stuff I do is graphic design centric... this may be another reason why I haven't tried it for so long.

I was actually contemplating trying to run it on my PS3 since I upgraded the hard drive. Not sure... any thoughts.

Dude, that was bad with saying Linux is hard. 7 years ago it officially sucked. Now you plug in ANYTHING and it will work within the millisecond.

As for PS3, I have Ubuntu running. It is perfect with two cons-

1. WiFi does not work (hack). You have to do ethernet or hack it (not too complicated, but requires ethernet until you do it). But with new Ubuntu I think it works.
2. You need a HD TV if you are going to use this.

It is recommended that u install it on an external hard drive if your going to actually work on it. Get a bluetooth keybord and mouse if you can. BT supported on default.

As for linux in general, the goods:

-Everything
-EASY for the basics
-Light
-Runs super fast on the crappiest computers

Cons-
-Adobe stuff dosen't work (cant live without, even though im a webmaster)

That's it!

I have an old Vaio - about 3 years. It used to run windows xp. I dusted it off and when starting it up it says the operating system can not be found. I have no clue why.

Anyway, I was wondering if I could run leopard on it. Does anyone know?

Please, be gentle with the tech talk. I'm tech illiterate.

Thanks.

google osx86 - what you intend to do is a fun little activity - yet complex.

And it can be done - people have installed it on a VAIO UX1 (UMPC)
