So yes, the new Taptic home "button" is ok.. Haven't really gotten used to using it yet but I just realized I will seriously miss the home button.

It is maybe because is so new but that Taptic engine does not do a good job on simulating an actual click, it's just a vibration.

Do you guys think the higher the number the more battery os being used? That's why I went with 2 but 3 feels better.

Using my iPhone 6 Plus next to my iPhone 7 Plus, the old click button is already laughably antiquated.
I agree. So old school. Clickity clickity. :p I love the new home button. At least SOMETHING feels different and new. :)

So for those of us with delivery dates that are not today, can you explain the options (1, 2, 3) that we are looking forward to? :)

Just left the Apple Store and walked away with a few impressions.

First, the home button is awful. Like early reviews the entire bottom vibrates with a setting of "3". Anything less and it's hard to feel.

The jet black is terrible. It honestly looks cheap and felt plastic IMO. The matte black is impressive, but a slippery monster.

Currently have an SE and was highly considering the 7 and now I'm totally content.

It's just a vibration level. 1 being the softest and 3 the strongest. Does not feel like a click whatsoever and I guess it will take some getting used to. The whole bottom of the phone vibrates.

I am looking forward to it. Not more listening to the people complaining about it not being flush, it is sunk in, it is to colicky or it is too mushy! I bet Apple is too!

Glad the jack and the old home button is gone.

i do wonder if they will get rid of it entirely, they made a BIG DEAL about how important and clever it is at the iPhone 7 keynote...

Wonder how much battery drain for the double-tap home button to swipe away apps OCD'ers.

It's been less than one day. Give it a week and you won't even notice it. Your body is built to become acustom to certain things. People used to scream about smartphones being too large, now the larger size smartphones are in higher demand than smaller ones.

Also, the "home" button is just a function. It still works the same way. I picked up my iPhone 7 Plus this morning, yes it feels differently but it works the exact same way. Nothing changed.
