There is a paper thin case that I want, but I'm not sure if it will fit.
I'm not sure what it's called, but it is well known.

A simple way to test your current 6 case is to add a business card between the case and the phone. A standard business card is about .3mm thick. Or 20lb printer paper is .1mm - fold in half, cut to size, and try that between your case and phone. Or... a dollar bill folded in half will also work.

i'm nervous that the case i want will not fit my phone. lol.

there should definitely be no issue out of screen protectors, right?

So I looked and could not find the answer to this but is it safe to assume that ALL cases and ALL screen protectors that are currently on the market (especially on my current 6+) will work for my new 6S+? I know speck release a statement saying that their cases do but what about everyone else? Especially invisible shield? I honestly do not want to buy another 35.00 dollar glass screen protector when I can just take this one of and put it on my new one. Thanks!!

Since Apple is selling separate leather cases for the 6 vs 6s and likewise for the 6 plus vs 6s plus, I strongly suspect most 6 and 6 plus cases will not work with new 6s and 6s plus.
Apple updated online store since last Thursday, removing 6 & 6 plus cases. Now shows 6s cases for both so I cancelled my order. Will use current leather case. Will report back after 6s plus phone arrives 9/25.

Am holding off on any screen protector as the video from Apple showing how the 3D Touch screen works and their statement that a special flexible glass was needed for the new screen, has me concerned that putting any additional screen glass would decrease the sensitivity of the new system.

The new cases work with the 6 and 6s. So I feel the old cases will work with the new phones.

I know nobody knows 100% for sure (at least nobody that's talking)...wonder how different the hardware of the iPhone 6s+ be from the hardware on the 6+?

The reason I ask, is because I've bought a black Apple leather case and ZAGG glass screen protector already in anticipation of getting an iPhone 6s+ when they're released...since both products were sold out quickly last year with the release of the 6+. Do you guys think the old cases/screen protectors will still fit given the different camera and FaceTime camera? I see a ton of iPhone 6/6+ cases being sold on other Apple-specific websites...and I'm worried I may have wasted money!

I'd be more worried about that glass screen protector. Wonder if that interferes with 3D Touch?

I saw on case mates site that their Naked Tough ones work with both.
The new cases work with the 6 and 6s. So I feel the old cases will work with the new phones.

Great news, just saved me $50 bucks, thanks.
When I ordered the new leather case on Thursday last week the Apple site had separate cases for the 6s plus and 6 plus. Since they updated site, the 6 and 6 plus case are gone. Since I have the black Apple leather case for my current 6 plus, I'm canceling the replacement case for the 6s plus.

By the way the current Apple black leather case held up for a full year and looks brand new.

Apple's own cases are compatible with both the 6(+) and their S follow-up. They state it on their own website.
Actually, they only state that the S cases are also compatible with the iPhone 6, NOT that the 6 cases are forwardly compatible with the S phones.

When I was at Verizon yesterday, a rep told me that the old cases will fit the new model phones. Apparently it's been a common question already. I can't confirm this is true, but I will have a 6S Plus case here tomorrow that I'll be throwing on the old Plus. If it's loose that should be a telltale sign.

Both Spigen, Incipio and UAG have confirmed so.
I'm not so sure they have.

I think what they've confirmed is that their new cases will also be backwardly compatible with the 6/+, not that the existing/legacy 6/+ cases will fit the new 6S/+.

[Edit] - For example...

Here's a "current" case on their site:
  • Compatible with Apple iPhone 6 - 2014
http://www.spigen.co.uk/cell-phone/...ne-6-case-slim-armor-cs-4-7.html#.VfatBErXerU

That's a "new" case that will fit the "old" model (which makes sense as the S models are ever so slightly larger than last year's non S), not the other way round.

Just wanted to know if I buy a Tech21 iphone 6 Plus case will it fit on the new iPhone 6s Plus?

It might "fit", but not perfectly I would suspect.

All wording I've seen, seems to suggest that 6S/+ cases will fit the non S models, but not the other way round.

Shumuri, through their FB page has indicated that existing Slim/Slim Extra cases will fit. I will have to bring to Apple Store today to try.

Apple advertises that their iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus cases will fit the "S" models.
Which would support what I'm saying about cases being backwardly compatible, but not forward.

I reckon they are simply new 6S cases and that's why they say they will fit a non S 6.

We'll soon find out for sure, but I reckon that an older Apple 6 case will be a much tighter fit on an S, than one you buy from now... ;)
