Still for the life of me cannot figure out the point of the 64GB version unless we are suddenly going to be allowed to download media
Me neither but the fear of the unknown coupled with the cheap upgrade got me to spring for it, twice.
The chat specialist said something about downloading videos and pictures but he also said sales would start at 5am EST.

On my 32Gb ATV 4K I use Infuse to stream video on local network. The app sometimes throws up a message of running out of storage for metadata and has to reinitialise. I think it's down to the screensavers downloading and there is no way of deleting them.

I don't get this issue on my 64Gb ATV (non 4K).

It’s an upsell tactic and a very clever one. Think about it the difference between 32GB and 64GB storage for Apple at cost is about 40 cents. Then the price of the 32GB has actually increase by £20 to force everyone into thinking ‘oh it’s only £20 extra’ for the 64GB.

i noticed afew posters mentioning when i browsed earlier this month

this will be my first apple tv so i'm not sure if thats correct or not

I’ve got a couple of 32GB ATV’s in the house and on both they are down to 6GB (screensavers I expect) so for ease of mind this time round I’ve gone for a 64Gb version.

That will go in the front room and I’ll shuffle the others into the bedrooms upstairs.

I just ordered a remote only (I was planning to order at 5am pacific but slept in an hour). The Apple website and app kept declining my Apple Pay credit card though. I called my credit card company to see what was up and they said there was no issue on their end. Still kept getting declined, and another oddity, the first time I tried to order there was a paid and a free shipping option, now there was only paid shipping. But since I got declined, I ordered from Best Buy (using their app). Weird thing was I got some error with them too but the order still went through apparently because I got a confirmation email.
This whole experience was just buggy and weird, but at least my order is put in now (hopefully).

Delivery has already slipped. I ordered five minutes ago with delivery date 21st-27th and now they're showing 24th-28th.

I just looked and it’s still showing may 21-27, at least for my area. 🤷‍♂️

I'm in the camp that ordered 64 but probably don't need it. The marginal difference coupled with unknown roadmap so might as well. These will get ridden hard for years and when I'm done a family member will enjoy them.

Seriously hahaha I’ve had a 32gb since 2014 and never ever filled it up with space at all, even with all the games and apps nothing, and I’ve a bunch, I dunno to each their own.

I was even tempted also this morning with my military discount i would had gotten the 64gb for the price of the 32gb but still lolol ended up with the 32 gb haha

Well damn, Costco had the Apple TV on sale. $10 off the 64gb… Apple care is discounted, too

and I could’ve bought it from Amazon with 5% off credit card. Oh well….
Thanks for the tip. Canceled my apple order and ordered thru Costco. Saved over $17 on 64gb when you factor in $10 discount, and 2% for Costco CC and another 2% executive discount. Delivery estimated week of May 24th.

Apple TV doesn’t sell well. Already on discount. Plus this is hardly much of an upgrade.
