Put a case on any iPhone & you’ve solved your problems. Apple has thick lenses to give us the best photos in such a small space. They are not going to just make the iPhone thicker so you can fix whatever’s going on with you. But let’s say to make the case thicker they would otherwise leave the rest of the space empty, well that will take more materials and the empty space would feel off. But it would also cost more, you ready to pay more for empty space? I’m not. OK, let’s say Apple creates a super thick iPhone filled with more battery, that’s going to cost much more, weigh a lot more and cost much more than a case, and will sell a lot less than they need. That’s why you can buy battery cases for your iPhone. Apple is never going to give you what you want. Get over it, get a case. 😮‍💨
You can't argue with an expert iPhone designer. @urnotl33t has clearly been building iPhones in his basement for many years and has more expertise than all those amateurs in Cupertino.

I suppose most people who invest in the S&P500 and/or the NASDAQ would like the Apple stock to increase its value. If the opposite happens, for example, Apple not increasing prices and despite selling more iPhones having a lower profit, then many people would consider their investments in the Apple stock. That will devalue Apple stock and the two financial indices who share a large percentage of Apple stock.

"If this is how things work", then I guess Apple will increase prices without thinking twice.

If the 17 Pro really has this two tone design on the back, this would be one element more that would trigger me to upgrade from the 15 pro.

They have already increased in the UK.

Just increase the US iPhones by $50 dollars and be done with it.

50 dollars is not that much if they haven't increased in years for the US market.

The prices are still the same here so not sure what you mean, but i expect Apple to offset the tariff costs for US customers by slightly raising prices worldwide. iPhone 17 Pro will probably be £1050 in line i reckon.

Hopefully the Pro Max will be £1250 and not £1299.

Apple also has a wild card slot with the iPhone 17 Air, because it's an all-new device and we don't have an existing model to compare it to. Right now, rumors suggest it'll be $899, which is the same starting price as the iPhone 16 Plus.
I think those rumors may be a bit optimistic, especially with the ready excuse of tariffs at hand to justify base price increases. It's clear that the 17 Air replaces the Plus series in the lineup, and I fully expect the 17 Air to start at $949 -- +$50 over the last Plus base model -- just as the Pro models will all start at +$50. The notion that those +$50 models will also come with a slight increase in storage is another obvious excuse to raise prices, so that they're doubly covered... never mind the fact that BOM data suggests that the storage upgrade costs Apple only about $11. (128GB of NAND costs Apple $11, whereas 256GB costs $22 -- and quite honestly, you really don't want to know the rest of the data.)

And of course, it's all about the spin; we can be sure that Apple is going to advertise these as reductions in price, since the 16 series models with 256GB started at +$100 over the soon-to-be-forgotten 128GB models. Business as usual.

The question is : Just in the USA or everywhere?

Why should the rest of the world pay, though?
I expect any price rises to be worldwide with an implied effective subsidy against the US tariffs.

The alternative, would be for apple to have some kind of arbitrage type situation between markets. Risking growth of grey imports to US (or iphone tourism - esp if there are physical sim phones available elsewhere and for less $ money)

Yeah I have an Amazon prime chase visa too. Most prime members do. Even with the cash back you’re only at 24% off the new $1099 price and you’re not including sales tax if applicable.

You got an ok deal. It’s not great. Nothing wrong with that. That’s most people when they buy Amazon refurbs. But yeah, it’s still last year’s news and a very old design, so you should expect heavy discounts.
And 25% off an iPhone is a heavy discount!

Yeah would be nice to get a roll call of folks who voted that way and just have them pay for the tariffs. Not all of us voted for that… although at least 50.1% did.
Of those that voted.

When you look at the total U.S. population that are old enough to vote, just baaarely over 1/3 of the country voted for the current situation. Just baaarely under 1/3 of the country voted for the alternative. Somehow, 1/3 of the country didn’t vote. So only 1/3 of the country supports the current situation. Said another way, 2/3 of the country didn’t vote for the current situation. 😉

Yep, indeed!

Technically, it wasn’t 50.1%
Aye, it was a weird vote for sure. I did a follow-up check and yeah it was 49.8 after attribution was given to Others.

You’ve fallen for right wing propaganda. Every time republicans are in office they explode the deficit and trash the economy. Then Dems have to fix it.

You can try to BS us but you’re gonna get called out. The facts aren’t on your side but republicans just invent things when they’re not.

Now they won’t report job numbers because they’re dismal. That oughta speed run the dollar into the crapper.
You’ve fallen for the propaganda.

Every time republicans AND democrats are in office they explode the deficit while claiming they can’t do what they promised because of <the other party> except they absolutely will fix it if you elect them one more time.

Google federal spending. It goes up regardless of who is elected. The two party system is a fake dichotomy to distract you from all of things that both sides politicians agree on doing while saying they are fighting the good fight.

Actually, the deficits explode more under Republican presidential administrations. The tend to come down under Democratic administrations. The last surplus was under Clinton.

As you said, both continue to spend, however, Republicans cut revenue while continuing to spend. Plus, every Republican admin since the first Bush has ended in a major recession.

The new range will certainly rise in price.

The USD has slid significantly against nearly every other currency in the last 6 months. About 11%

Apple, who price their devices in USD will need to raise their prices just to keep it worth as much as it did at the start of the year in terms of relative value. That's before factoring in any new tarrifs.

On the bright side, if they keep their pricing constant in every other market, they'll effectively have enabled a price rise in USD terms (because the USD lost value) The question will be whether they decide to get greedy and rise prices in other markets too to compensate. I'm thinking they might be brazen enough.

It's these tariffs!
We don't want to raise prices (that will never come down), but we just have no choice here!

A bit disingenuous ... to be more correct ... about ⅓ supports the current President, about ⅓ don't and about ⅓ don't give a crap/right to complain or rejoice.

That's the beauty of math: it couldn't be disingenuous if it tried. 2/3 > 1/3, 100% of the time.

I can never understand why people who are buying phones that cost thousands of dollars a whine about possible increases of $50-$100. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. Go and buy a cheap data-sucking Android phone. If you want the best, pay for it. And if you voted for Trump, it's your fault anyway.
How many phones you've bought that cost "thousands of dollars"? I'm aware of one, and taht's a "cheap data-sucking Android phone".
