Will the iPhone 8 have an edge to edge display?

I was wondering if the next iPhone will have an edge to edge display like the Galaxy S8.

If it did I would be happy, although I would still be on the fence on whether or not I'd buy bc I still need a headphone jack.

Right now I'm using 6S.
 
I hope it will have some edge or more edge than I see with the S8. Hope there is about an 1/8" bezel on both side before you get to the stainless rolled edge. The S8's edge look far too delicate and would make the screen more prone to damage.

I am will in to a small edge to the purpose of making the build more robust. I am also wanting a good edge for the case I will use to grip tightly.

If you would be on the fence if you were hoping for the return of the 3.5 Jack, that won't happen. So I am not sure if that will thwart your decision even if it has an edge to edge display.
 
All rumours actually point to no. There have been two prototypes or designs "leaked": one with bezels on top and bottom (although smaller than the 7) and similar side bezels as the 7... and the other with 4mm bezels on top, bottom and sides (which is the same size as the side bezels on the 7).

So the bezels will be reduced as a whole, but only on the top and bottom. And I don't see the current 7 as having edge to edge side bezels.

I would like it to be edge to edge. However whatever they release I am buying because I am due for an upgrade. I almost went with the s8+ but am holding out. I have the new tech itch which I bouncing between a new phone, an apple watch, a DSLR, and a drone. All expensive and stuff I don't need, but I can dream right?

What good is edge-to-edge display for the iPhone 8/iphone edition...when you still are limited to 4 icons per row?

I like my 6s a lot, but in some simple ways IOS needs to get with the times.

It's even more glaring a limitation on the + iPhones..

I know what some would say...the home screen is incidental and it is. But it still matters in a small way. Other limitations with iOS as well...this is just one example.

This is so true and is one of my main gripes with Apple. At least let us have five columns of icons on the page and five icons in the dock. While you're at it, give us an option in Settings to turn off animations. I would be far less eager to jailbreak my iPhone if these simple features were available.

Glad to see I'm not alone.

Apple can really take some lessons from other companies...if only they would.

hopefully they figure out how to make youtube vids fit the WHOLE screen if its edge to edge without zooming in and cutting off some of the video
