I've searched the forums and I haven't found anybody asking this question.

I know that no one knows for sure at this point, but do you think that the new Verizon iphone will have a new and improved antenna to resolve the "antennagate" issue? That alone would be enough for me to cancel my AT&T contract and move to Verizon. People can say all they want that it's a non issue, but I'm fed up with it and I'm not about to put an ugly case on it just to fix Apples mistake. Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone and I will not get any other phone, but I've seen the suppose Verizon iPhone and I see the antenna is revised. Could they have fixed the problem or is it just to accommodate the CDMA technology?

Give me your take and what do you plan on doing?

There never was an issue with the iPhone, just the media and forums like this one blowing things WAYYYYYYY out of proportion, seems like you got brainwashed into believing this crap.... anyways, it was all a MASSIVE exageration.
My advise to you is to first, take your bumper off (if you have one), use the iPhone like you normally would've, and just enjoy it in all it's glory.

Remember that if you switch to Verizon, you'll get a noticeable slower network, you wont be able to talk and surf at the same time, and now Verizon can throttle your data speed....what kind of crap is that?

If you switch to Verizon, great, but remember these limitations.

I never used a bumper and I never will because I would'nt want to cover up the beautiful phone, but I'm not brain washed and I know with experience that there is indeed a problem with the design of the device. Maybe you don't experience it because you have great service in you area, but for me, I have horrible service. I have one to two bars at home and if I cover the tiny break between the two antennas on the bottom left corner, I get "SEARCHING, NO SERVICE, SEARCHING, NO SERVICE, SEARCHING". So, don't say it's a figment Of my imagination because it's real. I wouldn't waste my time explaining my whole story if I was'nt 100% sure of myself. Try this, call someone if you have one bar on your phone and put one finger over the break and see if they can hear you. I guarantee they won't respond because you're covering up the outgoing transmission. As far as going to Verizon, I think it's a trade off that I'm willing to take. Sure it may take 10 to 15 seconds longer to load a web page, but at least I'll be able to talk on my iPhone without a dropped call every 5 minutes.

I covered the break.....nothing, everything was normal, the other person could hear me perfectly, same on my end, proves there is nothing wrong with the antenna design, I guess then it's a matter of network coverage.

By all means switch networks, enjoy the limitations, and have a great day :)

Hahaha, that was quick. How did you find somewhere with one bar, call someone, talk to them, figure that there wasn't a problem and write a paragraph in the span of just 7 minutes? That's so laughable.

I guess you missed my post on page 2 where at least four reputable sources tested the reception and found problems with the antenna?

I think he owns a 3GS as his screen name states which doesn't have the problem and he just wants to disagree for the sake of disagreeing. It's been proven and it's a true problem, unfortunately :(

I'm at school, with only one bar, called someone who had a free period, I could hear her, she could hear me, one bar, while covering the seams.

Really not that hard dude...

Wow, look at you! Was there an iPhone 4 in November of 09? How about you think a little bit?
I do own an iPhone 4, from launch day. Also to make it a little more obvious, my signature clearly states "i need a new username"

You failed buddy... twice

I still think this issue is somewhat subjective. The first thing I did when I got my iPhone 4 was:
- make sure it was in 3G mode
- held it with the proper "death grip (many youtube videos had people disproving the antenna problem by not holding with the death grip -- an equally useless argument)
- held it with death grip for over 5 minutes

Can Apple improve the antenna? Probably. But people are not lying when they say they are not having the problem, even remotely.

on the verizon iphone they placed the antenna break at the top of the phone so the problem might be solved i guess we will have to wait and see

Ummm, try again. I bought iphone 4 from launch day. I knew At&t dropped calls but it was really more than usual. Then I started hearing about antenna problems. That's when I realized it was true. I called some friends up and held the phone naturally like I always do, then I got the lost call beep. I looked at my iphone, saw 0 bars so I laid the phone down, and within a minute watch the bars climb back up. It did this everytime I forgot and held it wrong, so I got a case and no more problems.

I don't know why you want to insist you are right and everyone else is wrong, but for the majority of people, they had antenna problems.
