Regardless of what color you think it is or isn't, the app needs to be redesigned. It's horrendous. Have you seen the Remote Control app aesthetics? That's what I want the music app to look like. Perfectly blurred backgrounds and matching colors for the album it's playing.

How did you do that? When I try to listening to a artist who has multiple albums, I can't listen to individual album without It going down the list. I hate it.

If you choose a song and it says "1 of 1" it won't do it. Select a song within the album and tap the repeat button. Or ask Siri to play an album and do the same.

The music app and iTunes on Mac just feel a bit outdated, like they're not products of the current music-listening age.

Apple will hopefully combine Beats into iTunes/Music app into a seamless experience and really compete with the likes of Spotify and Rdio.

The Music/iPod app were groundbreaking in 2007 but it's barely changed since then other than some visual refreshes with iOS7. I want to discover other music I might like, and not by having to go into the separate and equally clunky iTunes app.

I want to see what my friends are listening to and what's recommended. I want curated playlists, radio, streaming music, all the bells and whistles I come to expect from a modern music service.

I don't want a cloud 'locker' for my music aka iTunes Match.

You select the album you want to listen to from the album view not artist. For example I have 14 Tupac albums. If I go to artist and select Tupac it's going to play all his albums back to back.If I go to albums and select All Eyez On Me I could repeat that one album.

Look at this wasted space. They could do something context sensitive like the other apps like making the music seem more alive with the app
And browsing albums sucks on ipad, why not employ a grid view with the album art instead of the lame list view?
It feels like the most stark and lifeless app in the whole os. Maybe have each individual album view change to match the album art?
I know the whole thing with this new era of iOS is simplicity but there are times where a little flair would go a long way.
The podcasts app seems to be getting it more right imo, for most part I really like the podcasts app.

I made these mockups right after iOS 7 came out. I think just an updated placement of elements would make it more pleasing to use on iPad.

I hope there will be a dark theme available , with the normal theme. Not placing any hopes on this one.

The mockups aren't my thing. I like the symetrical controls but I find them too small.

I hate how close the skip buttons are to the volume slider. The amount of times I've gone to skip a track and knocked the volume up to full... it's actually a possible safety issue, let alone a poor design.

I also wish it had swipe-to-skip, like the Spotify app does.

Going to press pause and destroying your ear because you hit the volume slider.

In the purported iPhone 6 leak that's going round the Music app has a slightly different gradient on the icon.

The optimist in me is hoping that iOS 8's GM will come with a new Music app using parts of the Remote.app code to add Up Next play queue management, background-blurred artwork on the Now Playing Screen.

I doubt the app will be redone. Maybe a few fixes but I feel Apple are happy with it atm.
Hopefully I'm proven wrong.

Same useless Music app, unchanged.

Tim Cook "loves music" he just doesn't care about the iPhone music player app.

I just want back the functionality that we had before iOS 7:

*Tap and hold to show long titles
*Swipe to delete albums
*Proper artists view
