Will the next MBP disappoint?

Will the next MBP Disappoint or be a Success

  • Success! (Not just in sales)

  • Disappoint (probably time to forget the PRO in this line)

I am so unbelievably impressed by the new MacBook Pros. They sure are priced high. But they are making me think my next Mac will be a MacBook Pro and not a Mac Pro (and that's assuming that they update them!) I'm not blown away by the GPU but everything else is a yes, especially the touch bar. That is a game changer for pro apps and apps in general.

Different strokes for different folks. If you have use for the new Pros more power to you. I do not. I don't want all USB-C ports. I have a wireless ergonomic vertical mouse with keyboard that I'm not giving up for Apple. I can't plug my portable ScanSnap scanner into the laptop because that is not USB-C. Ethernet dongle? Nope, not USB-C and not re-buying anything.

Buying an MSI GS63VR 15" sub 4 pound laptop w/ dedicated GTX 1060 graphics and 2 exhaust fans for the GPU for proper cooling. And it comes with matte screen and USB ports I can use. Really sad state of affairs re: MacBooks.

I'm generally underwhelmed, more so because the price is so staggering high - doesn't make sense to me,

I just don't see the staggering innovation in the touch bar that they tried to sell. The price was always going to be high. After 4 years they made it thinner and lighter and added a touch bar and Touch ID. And they took away magsafe which is the best power interface they've ever had.

£4,049.00 for a full spec 15" in the UK.
