Ah the ol "its not a problem for me, therefore it must not be a problem" mantra that I see so much on these forums.

In the 13 years I've worked as a software engineer, I consider a release "stable" when it can completely pass regression testing of all core functionality AND perform any new functionality without error aside from the minor bugs here and there. As you may have noticed above, I gave you 4 situations where core functionality is broken completely and it's not broken just for me. There are plenty on this forum who have the same problem, just read the threads.

What threads???

The only ones that have activity are the "App Failure List" for beta 4 and beta 5.

Your are the one that should be reading more threads and see that for almost everyone beta 6 it's been good, beta 6 could easily be the one prior the GM, if not, I don't think it will feel much different than beta 7 if it comes out.

Even GMs are never 100% perfect. That's why there are point releases (6.0.1, 6.1, etc..).

As of now, we have no idea if there will be a beta 7. I hope so, and I hope it comes soon, but for all we know we could get nothing until the GM around September 10th. So all we can do is wait and see.

Does that mean we won't see a public release on keynote day?

Tomorrow will be a week since beta 6 arrived, and it makes more sense for beta 7 to come a week from that than only a couple of days (had it been released on Monday or Tuesday). A week gives them enough time to iron out bugs which were introduced in beta 6 (although it was a fairly small update).
Of course this is just pure speculation and beta 7 could arrive next Monday or Tuesday (or not at all) :D

If it's like previous years, no. Just the GM for developers. But if you google you'll be able to find it, and it'll most likely be the same as the final released the following week.

As for the people claiming it's stable, you are clearly iPhone users and not iPad ones. Beta 6 for iPad still has many bugs; known crashes and freezes. There's even a crash involving the Smart Cover. Checking every day for a new release.

Nah, they're the "lucky" ones. Not even the iPhone is stable.

Let me list for you the issues I'm having and please let me know if you consider this "stable".

For me... None.

I'm not sure what you consider "stable", but this is stable. So close to GM.

Apple will definitely release a beta 7 current release has still lots of bugs.

Mine is... I don't have any explanation... :apple:

Many explanations, I may have different apps installed than you, my message sizes may be larger, network configuration, etc.

Not everyone is running the same exact phone/software configuration.

It's stable, but there are plenty of small bugs if you look for them. The only annoying one for me is the long boot times.

Here's a fun one: launch an app, then immediately hold your finger on the app icon. You'll get a mini window of the app you can move around for a second.

You lost me at "an"

Oh man you are so clever spotting the error.

You know what someone who is really truly clever does? They understand the issue being raised (notwithstanding the error) and add to the conversation.

Showing off your "intellect" with a snide comment is only a sign of insecurity.

Ah! That's really strange, sort of amusing. Yes, beta 6 is far from a final version.

Lol. It IS a pretty bad grammatical error! I'd have just blamed it on "Otto". (Otto is my name for auto correct.)
